After seeing the film four times, my friends and I were discussing ways The Avengers could have ended, going from long drawn-out storylines, to short and to-the-point storylines.
Here is out abridged version.
Avengers Abridged
"Loki! Give me the tesseract," Thor said as he approached his brother.
To which Loki merely laughed. "I don't think so, brother."
With aggravation, Thor pushed his brother, making him fall onto his back. Gripping Mjölnir, he leaned down and set it on Loki's chest. He stood straight as Loki tried, and failed, to get up. "This is ridiculous! Get this off me!"
"I don't think so."
