Danny was tired, he was very tired. Of course, he couldn't really notice it as he flew downtown in his ghost form, unsure of why he was going there. He shook his head. He was going there to go to school, keep up the façade of being normal to his peers. He really wanted to drop it sometimes, just show them who he was. Let them know that he wasn't just some weak loser who did nothing important in life. Not some weakling.
He shook his head, he shouldn't think like that. He protected them, which was enough even if only a few people knew it was him. Invisible and intangible he flew into school, eyes wide open. He changed back in the Janitor's closet and invisible he stepped out. No one was around. Great, late again.
He sighed and dropped the invisibility making his way to his first class, English. He blinked down at the schedule in his hand exhaustedly. He seemed to have English quite a lot these days. No matter, he just had to get to his desk and try to pay attention, like he never could.
Tired, he trudged in. Lancer turned around from where he was scrawling something on the whiteboard. "Mr. Fenton, late as always I see." Dash was giving him an evil grin glare from the front of the classroom along with the rest of the class. Looking at Lancer, Danny closed his eyes tiredly for a second. And that second was all it took. He fell down to the ground. Lancer's eyes widened in shock and confusion even as he rushed down the aisle amidst the students who were filing out for break.
Danny groaned as he came to, Lancer was moving him into the recovery position on the floor with the rooms tables pushed hastily to one side. He blinked groggily, and then realised what was happening. "Lancer! Get off of me, I'm fine."
Lancer gave him a deadpan stare. "You just collapsed in the middle of my class, hardly fine." Danny growled, he was fine! "Look, Lancer-" "Mr Lancer to you." "I am fine! Look, see? No cuts or bruises!"
Lancer was however, too busy gapping in shock at something on him. "What are you…? Oh! Damn…" it was a large streak of pink skin starting on his left palm weaving its way around his body. Pale enough no normal person would notice. Lancer looked at Danny worriedly, and suddenly, he wasn't there. Nothing in the air, no blurry vision. Just gone, a blue wisp in his wake.
Lancer shook his head. That boy was strange. He comes in the morning, exhausted beyond belief, and after less than two minutes of unconsciousness he's fine enough to yell and pull a disappearing act. Ah well, at least he tried to study sometimes, sometimes. He looked at the homework he'd handed in yesterday. A few paragraphs of rambling again, Lancer sighed this wasn't going to stop anytime soon, was it. It was pointless, to help him that is, he just backs away into the hole he was in before after you give him some help. Still, at least he'd tried once.
AN. Everyone who couldn't tell, the pink thing was burns from the portal accident. Tell me what you think guys! Also, this happened after getting these words from a random word generator and thinking a bit. I think I lost the trail of it though, oops! Flight hurdle downtown facade unsure
