If someone told Hermione Granger ten years ago, at the age of twelve, that she was to marry Ron Weasley a decade later, she would not have believed them. Would have called them absurd, insane. It just wasn't possible.
It didn't seem so absurd now that the engagement ring was on her finger. At first, it had felt a little heavy, but now - now, she felt if she took it off her hand would feel empty without it, shining brightly on her finger.
And in two days, another ring would be on her finger. A wedding band, to be exact, and she couldn't be happier. The ring, to her, seemed to represent the future - and everything she could have lost, four years before. It represented the future and the happiness it could hold for both of them, together.
And she wouldn't have it any other way.
