The Fibonacci Sequence….

Divide.

And then: 1.618…

It's everywhere in life. And it has many names. Phi. The Divine Proportion. Sectio Divina… The Golden Number. Many more. Many more.

It is…eternal, golden, perfect.

It is the ratio of the first segment of your finger to the second. It is the ratio at which leaves spiral around the stem of a flower. It is the ratio of the spiraled segments of a nautilus shell.

Aesthetically pleasing. The balance between symmetry and asymmetry.

Phi. It is everything and everywhere. Because. It is life itself.

And, as life faces its greatest danger, its ultimate threat, this may prove the key to salvation.

So. Who was the first? The first phi. That lovely child. Her name was Sakura. Sakura Mizrahi. Oh, what a blessed child. The savior of humanity. In her voice lay the key. Salvation. Phi.

Then. A mistake. Damage. Disease. And. An inability to no longer use the ratio. That which was golden. That which sustained humanity. Life.

And. She had to be eliminated. To make way. For the next child. The next Phi.

But now, more than ever, the ratio was needed. Joachim Mizrahi, brilliant man. But, one driven insane by necessity. For she was imperfect and perfection was needed. Then. The next. Trial and error. Trial and error. Each day closer to that what was.

He understood. Somewhat.

These Gnosis. Extinguishers of life. Surely. Surely. You must have noticed.

That she.

And then a breakthrough.

The voice of Phi lived again. Imperfect. But a close approximation.

Take the amplitude of the wave. Take the wavelength. Use the ratio.

And he named it the Hilbert Effect.

But still. It was only an approximation. It was not perfect. Not yet golden.

This would take more time. Before he realized. Before this number was found and realized for what it was. It had been buried in knowledge so long past. Deemed worthless. A true diamond in the rough.

Sudden clarity. And she was created. Perfect this time. In that she could not be destroyed so easily. For she was not a real child, this new phi.

And he marked her. And he named her.

And she was MOMO.

Experimenting with a writing technique. It is supposed to seem really, uhm, inhuman. But not quite robotic at the same time. This is just a prolouge, so I'll go back to my regular style now that I'm done. (And chapters will be longer!) This is my only non one-shot in the Xenosaga category…so R&R!
