"Edward, tell me another story, about our family history," I said.

I knew what Edward was thinking, I mean I'm not mind reader like he is, but it's pretty easy to read his face when he's not controlling his emotions. If I didn't know him so well, I'd think he was thinking, 'God, I've already told her three today, I'm not her story book' but he knew me too well, and he loved the thought that I was so intrigued about our family's history.

We stand, though to me, it feels as comfy as sitting, and we talk for hours. Not one of us shuffles, of fidgets as Edward tells me the story of how Carlise found red mountain deer, up in the highlands, and that's how he learned to operate. We both just stand there, looking into eachother eyes; my brain imagining what it must have been like, Edwards remembering the memoires.

Just as he finishes my beautiful, not so young daughter anymore, waltzes I through the room, almost dancing to the human eye, but to my species, I can tell that she is just naturally walking. She gracefully 'dances' over, and slips her arms through mine, all in the space of 2 ½ seconds. I look at her beautiful eyes, remembering, in the foggy human memories of mine, that that's what my eyes used to look like. All of the Cullen family's eyes are hazel, but Renesme's eyes have never changed since she was born, always the same beautiful, big dark brown eyed girl. Her eyes were how Charlie had recognized her in the first place. It was obvious that she was mine, just as soon as he'd looked at her. Back then she had to be very careful around him, and the same way around. But these days, I actually have to argue with him, to get some time with her too myself.

Next time I see Charlie I have some news for him, I don't know how I'm going to break it to him, but he has to know. It's putting our family into danger, surely he has to realize that, and take that into consideration, but these days who knows. People are starting to realize that we don't age. We can't pass in this town for much longer…
