Life Or Death Confessions
P.O.V. Danny
We've been trapped under all this rubble for who knows how long and honestly, I've given up hope on coming out of this alive. If I'm going to end up dying down here than I think there's something I need to get off my chest and tell Steve. I look over at Steve and see him trying to move a heavy piece of cement.
"Steve, just give up already. Just except the fact that we aren't going to make it out of this alive."
Steve gives me a hard look then says "We aren't going to die, okay. I'll find a way to get us out of here."
"Listen, you might not have accepted that we aren't going to get out of this alive, but I have, so there's something I really need to say.
"Danny-" Steve starts to say, but I cut him off.
"No, Steve this is something I really need to say."
I wait a second to see if Steve will start talking again and when he doesn't, I continue what I was saying. "I know you might hate me when I say this, but I really need to get this out." I take a deep breath then say "I love you Steve"
When he doesn't say anything, I decide to keep talking. "I know you probably hate me for this but-". Before I could finish my sentence, I was cut off by Steve's lips on mine. I'm so shocked for a moment that I don't move, but after a few seconds I snap out of it and kiss him back. When I pull back, I look into Steve's eyes and see nothing but love in them. My thoughts are confirmed as a few seconds later he says "I love you too."
This moment is so perfect that it takes me a minute to remember where we are. This must have showed on my face because a moment later Steve asks "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm happy you feel the same way; I just wish it was under different circumstances."
Steve squeezes my hand then says "Don't worry, I'll get us out of here"
"How are you going to do that Super Seal?"
"Don't worry, I have a plan" Then he disappears.

Steve comes back five minutes later with a dented pipe.
"How's that going to help us?" I ask.
"There's powder from my grenade in here. It should cause a small explosion to blow up the cement slab"
I was about to start yelling about how stupid and dangerous his plan is, but I'm so desperate to get out of here so I just let out a sigh and say "Let's just do this and hopefully get out of here.
He gives my hand a small squeeze then walks towards the slab of cement. He then proceeds to shake the pipe, put it under the cement, and then run to where I am. A moment later there is a big bang and the cement blows up. The next ten minutes go by fast as we crawl through the rubble to our destination, and then are hoisted out of the ground. The first thing I hear as I'm being pulled out of the ground is Grace yelling out "Danno". I run towards her and give her a big, crushing hug.
"Danno, I was so worried about you. Are you and Uncle Steve okay?"
"Yeah monkey, Uncle Steve and I are okay. What do you say tonight you, me and Uncle Steve get food and watch movies at my house? Does that sound like a good plan?"
Her face lights up as she nods her head saying "yes". We then walk over to Steve and tell him our plan. He gives me a smile and says "There's nothing I'd rather do."
