Somewhere In The Capital…

"Leo Lionheart… Head Game Maker…"

A young man muttered to himself in an pitch black room, as he stood, hunched over a multi-million dollar piece of machinery which would soon control the lives of twenty four young men and women. He slicked back his metallic gold curls and smiled a wicked grin. "No. Leo Lionheart… The greatest Head Game Maker in history!"

Suddenly, a harsh white light flooded the room as a young woman entered what would soon be the command center for the 84th Hunger Games.

"Leo," she said, drawing him from his daydreams of success.

"What?"

"The reapings are about to begin."

Leo stood upright and faced the woman, his subtly crazed grin still spread across his lips. "Good, good… about time I met the players in my game."

"Dr. Cornelius also wished for me to inform you that the new mutt is nearing completion."

"Even better! Maybe now that we'll know it's prey, we can make a few… finishing touches."

Without another word, the extravagantly dressed man began to walk out of the room, the woman at his side. The two soon arrived at a pair of velvet doors which automatically opened as Leo approached. The pair was greeted by a large viewing room. The back wall was almost completely taken up by a massive holographic television. There were already several people laughing and talking upon the luxury sofas around the room, sipping martinis and other various alcoholic drinks brought to them by the various avox servants walking about.

"Leo!" cried one of the men, raising his martini as he spotted the Head Game Maker. His cry was quickly followed by the greetings of many others.

However, his welcome was short lived as soon a gong rang through the room and everyone rose to their feet. Every man and woman turned towards a viewing box up above in the corner of the room, watching as several guards began to walk in. Moments later, a old man walked into the booth with a smile on his face. He waved his hand, singling everyone to sit back down.

"President Nix," Leo said, taking a step towards the viewing box, "It's a pleasure."

President Nix, the successor to President Snow after his unfortunate passing a few years back, nodded to the game maker. "The pleasure is all mine, Head Game Maker." His words made Leo practically drunk off power. "I am very excited to see the lucky youths that shall take part in your first games."

"Ah, yes. They are truly lucky indeed," Leo replied, his wicked grin returning once again.

The president sat down and within the moments following the large television roared to life. The Capitol anthem played and its symbol appeared, a familiar sight to all in the room.

"Let the reapings begin!"

Hello, everyone! Welcome to my very first fanfiction posted on this wonderful site! I have written several fics before, but this will be the first I post anywhere. Any and all helpful criticism and advice is very welcomed and appreciated. As the title states, this story will be a SYOT, meaning all the tributes present in this story will be submitted by you readers. If you wish to submit a tribute, the application is posted on my profile. All submissions MUST be PMed to me, no exceptions. Every reader is currently allowed to submit a total of 3 tributes, this is subject to change depending on how many tributes are sent to me.

To keep me from playing favorites and to ensure all characters are treated equally, a good portion of the deaths and events in the games will be randomized. So, please don't be mad at me if one of your tributes dies in the bloodbath or just has really bad luck. In your submissions, you are more than welcome to state your feelings on your tribute dying in the bloodbath or tell me any specific (And reasonable) events you'd like to happen to them. Romances are also allowed if you'd like.

I am currently in school, so I have no certain schedule for updates or have any idea how long this fic will be. I will try to update as often as possible and will try and keep you guys in the loop on when to expect new chapters.

I am very excited to see all your wonderful tributes and see how their stories will play out! Thank you all so much for reading, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
