Author's Notes: Yuri has the craziest effect on me. It makes me see certain cutscenes in a different light. Anyway, spoilers for Bayonetta 2 down below and some hints of woman-woman romance, so turn back if you don't want any of that.

Bayonetta is by SEGA and Platinum Games.

After all this searching, all the fights and trials she had been through, Bayonetta finally found Jeanne's soul. Crippling Alrauna, Rodin stopped her from dealing the final blow and told her to focus on her main goal. The hybrid witch applied the watch onto Jeanne's chest, hoping she wasn't too late.

"Jeanne, get up," Bayonetta told the white soul of Jeanne, using her usual call to wake her up in the mornings. "You're going to be late."

No response. Panic and desperation began to set in.

When did she start finding her more than just a friend? Somewhere in those recovering memories of Cereza's, a lust for the white haired witch rose up in her. Jeanne welcomed it openly, having fallen for her back when the rest of the Umbra Witches were still alive. She helped her through her confusion, through her vulnerable times, making sure she knew she was loved.

"Jeanne?!" she asked in shock. "It's time! Get up!"

She began to shake with sadness. She felt she was not only going to lose her Umbran sister, but whom she felt was a lover as well. Tears began to form up in her eyes while she realized something. Everything Jeanne did all these millennia...it was all for Cereza's sake. All to make her happy.

"Please, Jeanne!" she pleaded, shaking her harder. "Wake up...!"

From the time they met to the present day, it was evident that love grew between the two. Enzo was stunned. Luka remained oblivious to it. Rodin knew all along, but he didn't mind. For the outside world, it was a gossip topic that the model and the celebrity were lesbians. Enzo's family welcomed the two despite their orientation.

Whatever they found out, and whenever they found out about it, it didn't change a thing about them.

What no one saw was a tear fall down from the eye that held Bayonetta's godly power and land on the surface of the Umbran Watch that served as Jeanne's heart. There was a blinding flash of lavender light that blinded the Umbra Witch, and she had to shield her eyes from it briefly.

A light moan came from the soul of Jeanne. Cereza forced her tears down and took hold of the soul's shoulders.

"Jeanne!" she said happily. Her quest wasn't for naught in the end.

The soul opened her eyes and got a look at the flesh and blood Witch before her.

"Cereza..." she managed to say upon regaining some sense of focus.

Bayonetta soon regained her composure and stood up, letting go of her.

"What do you need? A wake-up kiss or something?" she asked her with some slight irritation.

A moment of silence while Jeanne started to regain her bearings. Bayonetta let out a small laugh before turning and bending down to face her.

"You never were much of a morning person, were you?" the raven haired witch asked in an amused tone.

Jeanne sat up and looked around the area. A thorny forest in a red void, a feeling of foreboding to the place...

"This...But this is..." she began, realizing where she was.

She looked to her Umbran sister.

"Cereza, you came here t..." Jeanne began, touched. "...to rescue me? Are you insane?"

"You took the words right out of my mouth," she responded.

She offered the soul her hand.

"Let's go."

Jeanne accepted the hand with no hesitation and was helped up. Though she couldn't experience touch in soul form, the love felt from it warmed her cold, ghostly form up.
