Inkinators is a story based on 4 Inklings: two boys and two girls. It all begins right in Inkopolis, Inklings' favorite destination, as well as the capital of the famous Turf Wars! We start off with a boy coming from the farms, getting to know all the wonders of the city. The phonetics of his name are: Hyoon. Now you know his name too! This story is based on Splatoon 1 only.

In the bad ending of the Octo Expansion, Inkopolis and everyone in it is destroyed, with Cap'n Cuttlefish, Agent 8, Agent 3, and Off the Hook left to pick up the pieces. Struggling among themselves and their inner demons, the New Squidbeak Splatoon must assemble again to face off against new world leader Commander Tartar and uncover more dark secrets of the Kamabo Corporation.

They look to win the Rank Wars, a school-wide competition that decides who'll represent them at the Winter and Spring events. One year has gone by since DJ Octavio's defeat at the hands of Agents 1 and 2, along with their new recruits Orange and Blue. Life is peaceful in Inkopolis, but the Squidbeak Splatoon is never at rest. Join them as they partake in crazy adventures, whether they be serious or just plain comedic.

Meet Josiah Douglass. His life couldn't be any more perfect, as he has a girlfriend and a great source of income. But one day, when the Octarians invade Inkopolis, taking it over, Josiah's life is turned upside-down. DJ Octavio may be gone, but the Octarian army still carries his hate for the Inklings. Victoria is an Octoling in that army, but her recent trip to Inkopolis has made her rethink her view on the Inklings. As the Octarians start provoking the Inklings into a new war, Victoria finds herself forced to make a difficult a choice: stay with the Octarian army, or leave everything behind.

When a young aspiring artist plans to enter a competition to get to her dream school, a young aspiring Splatfest Champion comes to her world seeking assistance to become the greatest. Both must work together to achieve their dreams, while looking past their flaws in the process.

An octoling named Christine escapes the hypnotized octarian army and are thrust into the confusing city of Inkopolis! After making a few friends and a lot of enemies, Christine is determined to show Inkopolis that she can be just as successful regardless of her race.

As the Cap'n and his agents search for an Agent 7 to fill the gap, a new threat arises: one of their own species. An inkling recovering from head injury soon discovers her past incarnation as a human child. Angered, she swears to end the entire Mollusk era with the blind help of Octavio. She'll have an army. Captain Cuttlefish insists that two can play at that game.

Many things occur around Inkopolis. And a regular, rag-tag Turf War team has decided to take up the mantle to do good for the city. Inspired by the actions of certain rumored Agents, they have decided to be their own band of sleuths. Of course, this won't happen overnight, and they won't always cooperate, but when they set their minds to it, they can accomplish many things.

On a remote island in the Pacific, a colony of inklings thrive. They sail, they fish, they are in perfect harmony with themselves and the sea. But on a sacred night, young Humboldt Hightide is torn away from the island, and out into inkling society. Soon, he'll have to find his place in this new colorful world, or the inkling race will have no choice but to turn back to the tides.
