Lucy was sitting in her room. It was late at night and she was incredibly tired, but she needed to finish this short story she was writing for an essay contest. The winner would get 500 jewels.

"Alright, Lucy, think, what would Natsu do?" she asked herself.

"Well, I don't know why you're asking that. I mean, I'd never enter an essay contest," a voice came from behind her. Lucy jumped out of her seat.

"NATSU! You can't just sneak up on me like that!" Lucy chastised.

"I wasn't sneaking up on you. I just happened to enter through the window without knocking your lamp over for once," Natsu defended.

"Whatever," Lucy mumbled. She tried to stifle a yawn.

"Lucy, why are you still working on this? You're obviously tired," Natsu asked with concern. He sat down on the desk and picked up the paper to read it.

"I have to finish it for tomorrow. Not to mention, it's one of those weird contests where you have to use certain words in it," Lucy sighed.

"What words do you have to use?"

"Phosphene and stars. I just don't know how to connect the two."

"Luce, what's a phosphene?"

"It's the shapes that appear when you rub your eyes too hard. Your eyes try to make up for the stimulation and create images in the darkness," Lucy explained.

"Why not write about a seeing star shaped phosphenes."

"How would that work?" Lucy asked confusedly. Her face scrunched up as her mind tried to figure out what he was saying.

"Well, haven't you ever seen stars when your eyes were closed?" Natsu asked.

"Not really. I usually just see colors," Lucy mumbled as she rubbed her eyes to test the theory.

"Well, you haven't tried hard enough," Natsu challenged. Lucy rubbed her eyes harder but all she felt was pain from the pressure.

"How?"

"Easy. Close your eyes," Natsu instructed. Lucy did as she was told and waited for whatever he was about to do. He slowly leaned forward and kissed her. He kissed her softly at first, but when Lucy's lips responded he kissed her more forcefully with passion. Slowly, he pulled away when they were both panting for air.

"Well? Did you see them?" Natsu asked with hopeful eyes.

"See what exactly?" Lucy asked in a daze as she still tried to process what had just happened.

"Stars."

"I don't know for sure, maybe you should try it again?" Lucy asked with a small smile. A huge grin spread out across his face as he leaned in and kissed her again. And again.
