Tawni Hart is your best friend because she's the only one who understands you're pain, who understands you. That you are a mess just waiting to spill. All over the floor, and no one else would vacuum you up but her, because no one else cares.
She's your best friend because she's the only one who's always been there for you. No one wants to be there for you.
She's your best friend because she's the only one who you can let close enough to you, to your heart, where she won't just take a piece and run, because she can't go anywhere.
Tawni is your best friend because she doesn't try too hard, she knows that all you want is to be left alone, because attention only makes you weaker.
She's your best friend because she doesn't laugh at you when you f a l l. She picks you up, because no one else can see you down.
She's you best friend because she doesn't tell anyone that when you look in the mirror "admiring" yourself that you're really looking at all the things you would fix.
She's your best friend because she tells you you're "steak worthy" but you do not have the gift of pretty. If you did someone would have told you by now.
She's the only one who knows that your dreams are just to fit in. You never fit in.
She's the only person who hands you the mirror when you're about to c r y, so you can hold back the tears so you won't see yourself looking worse than usual.
Because she's seen you cry, and she knows what the pain comes from. No one else does.
She is because you don't have to tell her that your dad left and your mom doesn't care. She already knows.
Because she doesn't say that Portlyn is better than you. Everyone else says Portlyn is better, even if you're smarter. If anyone cared about school why would they be in show biz?
Because she can see through your perfect act, into your heart, and know that all you want is to be done, and your mind is constantly screaming, "Is it over? Is it over?"
Because she's seen the cuts and bruises, and heeled you up by not caring, everyone else cares.
Because she's seen you without makeup and knows that you would love to walk around like that but never would because you're afraid of what they'd say.
Because she's no better than you, even if you aren't good, she's no better.
Because at the end of the day, she'll tell you it's okay. No one else says it's okay 'cause it's not.
Because she says Tawni Town is a great dream and a heck of a town, because honestly, your whole life you've been looking for a way out, all you want is to get out.
And finally Tawni Hart is your best friend because she's the only one who'd still like you after they got to know you. After they saw who you really are. She's the only one who wouldn't run away and leave you in the cold, just like he did.
