It was study hour.
She was in the library, doodling and sucking on a strawberry flavored lollipop.
As usual.
She finished the lollipop and threw it into the nearby trash can, making sure the librarian didn't see that. Mrs.Yamazaki didn't allow any food in her library. Candy was no exception.
"Hey," said a voice. Surprised, the blond dropped her pencil.
Plunk.
An equally blond boy bent down and picked it up. He's kinda cute, thought the girl. He gave the pencil back to her, smiling. She looked at him oddly. Who was he?
"Um, thank you. Are you new?" she asked. He seemed to smile, sadly.
"No," he shook his head. "I'm Roxas. I have all your classes, Namine."
"I-I'm sorry," she stuttered. "I've never seen you before." Her face was red from embarrassment. She had honestly never seen him in her whole life.
"I sit next to you in English…" he said. He shrugged. "Well, you're always kinda looking at Sora. I've tried talking to you, but you don't seem to notice." He sounded sad.
Oh no…she thought. I hurt him by not even noticing him?!
"I'm sorry!" the blond blurted out. She quickly lowered her voice. The librarian didn't notice. "I mean…"
"Don't be sorry!" he smiled, watching her face turn the slightest shade of pink. "Sora's one of those cute guys."
"Well," she said, shyly. "You're pretty cute yourself." His face curled into a genuine smile.
"Thank you," he said, softly.
"I'll make it up to you," she said. "Meet me after school at the Sea Salt Stand," she grinned, shyly.
"So that's your apology?" he asked, with a sly grin. She shook her head, her angelic blond locks hitting her face.
This is," she said. She bounced up and brushed her lips softly against his. She grabbed her sketchbook and grinned.
He watched her leave, touching his lips. "Tastes like strawberries," he murmured. A goofy grin parted on his face, his cheeks turning pink. He stuck a grape sucker in his mouth. "I'll pay her back soon." The library doors swung as he stepped into the sunshine.
