Here is the challenge:
a) Merlin has lived all the way into the 21st century and has decided to come back in time.
b) He has changed matured enough and lived enough to see how stupid some of his actions were. He is smarter, physically stronger, taller, better educated as a medical professional. He was a doctor in the future.
c) He still does the right thing when it matters but is not adverse to killing guilty people. He is also more commanding, less meek, confident and experienced in different matters.
d) He dresses better in 21st century style, creates his own clothes. Formal clothing for his day-to-day work and something stronger and stylish for his travel and adventures.
e) Merlin is more leadership material. He takes time to talk to other magical people, druids, sorcerers, and witches etc. asking them to trust him. He protects those that are about to be executed by sneaking them away.
f) He messes with Uther, he may not kill him but he makes his life difficult including making him sick and injuring him when he does annoying things.
g) He saves Morgana and falls in love with her. She does not go off the rails but hates Uther and tries to kill him but Merlin always stops her. Morgana and Merlin play games, refer to the story All's Fair by Duchess Emma as to how they mess with each other and fall in love SLOWLY.
h) Morgause and all the other bad people stay bad but Merlin hides Mordred with Morgana and they both keep him for weeks and parent him together kind of like a small family. Merlin himself takes Mordred to a Druid settlement far away which is a more permanent Druid home where all the small camps visit at times. He promises Mordred to keep in touch and that he'll take him away when peace has been achieved.
i) I want the tv series followed but you are free to remove some threats like mordred and morgana attacks since he fixes them. I'm sure saving lancelot and other knights will cut a few episodes but all in all, cenred, Morgause and some other evil people like Sarum are enough to get the series done.
j) Merlin NEVER tells anyone about time travel. Its stupid to since he is living a new life with and advantage. It doesn't affect other people. Plus merlin has always been wise.
k) I don't want shoddy sappy writing with little conversations and character development just moving the story along. Read stories like Rise of Wizards, The Merging which are Harry Potter stories to understand what I am getting at.
l) I think chapter length of 5,000- 10,000 would keep the story flowing well and enriched. You may update at your convenience but a monthly or twice a month update would be awesome.
m) Freya become Lady of the Lake; decide how you want to do it.
n) Merlin makes Morgana immortal at the end but instead of being court sorcerer they travel the world doing whatever you want. Oh they stay eternally youthful i mean merlin has got to come up with something after all these years to no just be some old dude forever.
o) Yes to lemons but add variety. Like i said they whole falling in love stage can be cute stuff at first but they have fights esspecially in regards to killing uther. so teasing, making love, oral, secuction, hardcore. just make it tasteful.
I don't like to put restriction but I hate challenges when people forget things quickly. I also abhor stories where people don't think about how it develops. People change, Merlin was 25-28 when the series finished. He lived thousands of years. Come on folks there is good and bad. Also I find angst idiotic since merlin has never been one to dwell and in his second chance in life, there is no need of bitching.
