Title: Leopard Eyes
Author: fbi-woman
Rating: K / PG or whatever
Type: His Dark Materials
Spoilers: None really, but just to be safe, you should probably read The Golden Compass first.

Disclaimer: I own nothing and I'm not claiming to. This is just an original work inspired by a book series.
Summary: A poem about Mrs. Coulter and Lord Asriel, from Stelmaria's perspective
A/N: I still really hate not having my poems rhyme lol. Please let me know what you think. But please, try to be constructive, even if you hate it. Flaming isn't going to help. My first ever HDM piece, and I am by no means an expert on the series lol so go easy on me. I tried to make it plausible, but I don't have the most in-depth understanding of what daemons would feel or do.

Icy white fur

And a powerful stare

A majestic creature

Who walks on the edge

She prowls about proudly

Commanding respect

The picture of strength

With a weakness concealed

In the presence of others

The shift can't be seen

Yet when safe from their eyes

She can't help but concede

A flash of pure gold

Slowly enters the room

Captures her attention

Drawing her near

One large gentle paw

Holds the quivering animal still

And a low purr escapes

With the caress of a claw

Her golden companion

Disappears with the stars

But she's aware of the truth:

He can't stay away

Somewhere inside

She knows they can't be

Yet she can't help but feel

That he'll always be hers
