Wow, I can't believe I'm writing a second Fruits Basket fic. I mean, I like Furuba, but I really don't write for it much (usually I write for Invader Zim, as those who read my work will know)… obviously, after my first failed attempt at writing a decent Furuba fic. Well, no matter, I will make this a oneshot, a short ficlet. Heh-heh-heh…

"You'll do anything for me, wouldn't you, my pet?" The words, purred in such an innocently sweet voice, had underlying venom in them, nevertheless… and Shigure knew it.
Poisoned honey. He chuckled.
Immediately, sharp black eyes narrowed at him, and a pale hand, as if it had never seen the light of day, reached out to caress his cheek, its grip slowly tightening as the hands' owners hissed out, "You didn't answer my question."
Shigure smiled at the statement. Putting up a gentle hand to grasp the hand on his cheek, he murmured, "You need never doubt me, my god. I live only to serve you. I will do anything, anything to prove my worth."
"Yes," Akito muttered, as if reassuring herself. "Yes, you live only to serve me. You will do anything for me." She brought down her hand from Shigure's cheek and suddenly wrapped her arms around Shigure's neck. "Mm… you'll never betray me, will you?"
The swift barb Akito's words had thrown hit Shigure squarely in his heart. However, he kept his face impassive, and, smiling down at the weak, frail body in his arms, replied, "No, my god, I will never betray you. May I be stricken down on the spot if I do."
Akito buried his head in Shigure's yukata and said nothing more. They lay like that for a while, Shigure fondling the soft dark hair slowly, as if lost in some contemplative thought…
All the while, he was fingering the dagger hidden in the folds of his yukata.

Ooh… I may not make this into a oneshot after all. Perhaps I'll write a sequel… anyone interested?
Anyway, I rather think Shigure was really OOC, since (SPOILER NEXT… I think) I know that he does love Akito and would never even think of killing him. I know, cuz towards the end, well, they admitted their love for one another. (Actually Shigure confessed first… I think…)
