A/N: Trying something new with this, inspired by a challenge from Icantgetitoutofmyhead

Have you ever wondered how the Mundane world stays so ignorant of the Magical world in the age of technology? The answer, they don't. The British government was the first to find out after the end of the first Magical war. There was so much overspill, that it could not be hidden. From then on, an elite taskforce was set up by the government, that is only answerable to the Queen. The duty of this taskforce, to monitor the wizarding race, to keep them ignorant of the mundane and when the time is right, to strike.

That's right, they wanted to purge the world of the wizarding race that is 'pureblood', there would be some casualties of war, the 'half-bloods' but the muggle born would be safe, they would start the society anew, fully integrated with the muggle world.

This elite taskforce has a register of every muggleborn in the country. Each of them are visited on their 10th birthday, a year before the Hogwarts letters. This gives them time to teach them about the world, to indoctrinate them into service for Queen & Country and if some disagree, well then, they may just have an unfortunate accident

Hermione Granger is 11 years old, and ready to go to Hogwarts, what that magical world doesn't know about her, is not only is she one of the British Governments newest recruits, she is also designated 'special'. Her talents to retain and learn knowledge will be useful to rebuild society. She will be part of the purge, but for now she must learn. She is armed with technology, impervious to magic, she will catalogue everything she can find out about Hogwarts and the magical world, through dissecting books and logging her life, it will be invaluable research.

Today is the day, she will go to Hogwarts, she is determined to meet a person called "Harry Potter", to understand his role in the ending of the previous war. He will be one of the first to die.

As her parents drop her off at the station, they are also thinking of how they can help their little girl this year. Their job is to get more technology, to discover it, to invest in it and make it impervious to magic with the governments help. The more technology, the better.

"Goodbye Mum, Goodbye Father, I will write to you next week" She says almost clinically.

This was one of the things the British government liked about her, she made a great soldier, all the bullying she had faced, made her the perfect person to seek revenge and not be emotional. She took her place on the train, not before taking a sly picture of course, to put on her records.

"Hi, I'm Hermione, can I sit with you" She said to a boy with a round looking face

"Sure of course, I'm Neville, nice to meet you, this is Trevor, my toad" he replied

"A toad, fascinating, what made you bring him?" asked Hermione, genuinely curious

"Well, my gran doesn't trust me with an Owl or a cat, so this was the only other option, I just hope I don't lose him" he said

The train started moving, and Hermione and Neville were deep in conversation, she was learning a lot about the magical world for her file. Neville also gave her the perfect excuse to go looking for Harry Potter, his toad got lost, so she helped go looking around the train for him, but really was look for Harry. She eventually found him in a cabin with a red headed fellow with dirt on his nose, she really did not like the look of this guy, he tried to perform a spell that failed, but at least she got into Harry's good books by fixing his glasses, that was a start.

Once she was back in her cabin, she started to write an email back to her contact in the government. She had hidden a laptop inside a large journal, so that when she opened it up, she could still do her work.

"Dear Agent Snow,

I have made first contact with the undesirable number one, he seems very timid and shy, shows signs of abuse and neglect, does not seem to have grown up in the magical world. He Is hanging round with someone called Ronald Weasley of the Weasley clan, he is an abhorrent fellow, but I feel I am going to have to play both of them in order to become a good friend of Harrys, this Ron, has got their first, and now I am competing for attention. I believe they will both make Gryffindor.

I have also made a contact with a person called Neville Longbottom, also quite timid and shy, shows signs of abuse, but has grown up in the magical world. He is a pureblood. I will keep my eyes on him if you so choose.

Next email will likely be tomorrow, I will let you know what house I get sorted in.
