I do not own Smallville!
The Burning of the Countess of Lecher
Lana Lang looked scaridly outside her window. "This must be a dream" she kept telling herself. "I can't be in France - much less during the burning times, centuries away from Smallville, Kansas!"
As she looked outside the window, a man in a mask took a fiery torch and threw it into the pile of branches and other things that were placed around a tied up woman. The priest, praying to god or some other such thing, yelled something Lana could bearly make out. Something about "the burning...Countess...Lecher."
'I guess they spoke english in these parts of France!' Lana thought to herself. Then it struck her - the priest wasn't speaking english, she could understand him beacuse she spoke French!
Suddenly, the Countess of Lecher was saying something. Lana couldn't hear anything but the crackling fire and the wind. She quickly opened the antque looking window and heard the screams of the woman:
"You might think your god can protect you, but heed my words, your dreams will be mine! I will drive you to murder and suicide! Every one of you!"
All that was heard now were the horrible screams of the burning woman. The priest and the others starred in amazement, crossing themselves.
A rise of smoke reached Lana's window. She could smell the burning flesh. Quickly, she closed the window shut, her eyes fixed on the burning woman's figure.
Her face was still untouched by the flames. Her long waving red hair became one with the flames and her pale face looked agitated as the flames crept closer to her face's flesh. Lana couldn't imagine how much pain the woman must be feeling. A cold shiver ran through her entire body.
Then, the burning woman looked straight at her. At first Lana thought that it might be her imagination but soon she realized that imagination had nothing to do with it.
Thier eyes stayed locked together for the longest time - or so it seemed - when suddenly, Lana recognized the woman burning away in front of her.
It was Loelita Lecher - her guide in the ways of sorcery.
Why didn't she remember her before?
Then suddenly the priest looked up, straight at the awe struck Lana. She quickly backed away from the window and fell to the floor.
'What if he saw me? What if he thinks I'm a witch?' she thought to herself. Tears started forming in her eyes as she looked around the dark room. She prayed that this was just some twisted dream.
As she slowly lifted herself upwards, careful to stay away from the window, she noticed a dark firgure emerging from the shadows.
A woman's voice spoke: "Don't fool yourself. You are a witch."
