Mystery dungeon: Explorers of fate!
It...it is so dark. Very very dark. I uh...hear voices. So many voices. All around me! To the left, to the right. Above and below and even inside me if that makes any sense at all. They are so…so so jumbled I can't understand what they are saying!
Before I know it, my eyes open and I am laying on an ocean of calm water. Nothing seems to be near for miles when shadows started to surround me again. The voices...all those voices they...they are coming from them!
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" I shouted trying to cover my ears.
But no matter how hard I tried, they just kept getting louder and louder and louder before BANG! It appeared as if they all disappeared. I sat down holding my knees looking down at the water sighing in relief. All the noise, worry, and scariness was over but, I would be wrong. So very very wrong. In fact, I realized it had only just begun when I tried to see my reflection. My….my nonexistent reflection. I tried to look at my hands but I couldn't see them either or any other part of my body. They were there! I feel them but I...I can't see them!
What seemed like a new shadow appeared in front of me laughing! I couldn't shake the feeling he was making fun of my state of being. In a fit of rage I tried to swing and hit him but to my dismay I would just end up going through him and falling down. I quickly turned over and looked up at the increasingly big shadow that loomed over me.
"Nice try!" the voice laughed as it started to circle fast around me. "No need to fear for it is only I who am here!" The shadow eventually came face to face as a pair of red eyes would appear to meet mine. "Let's get something straight, I want to kill you and you do in fact want to kill me, but let us take a step back. How about a new game this time huh? I am tired of the constant me win or you win so how about we change the stakes?! Hmm? Want to change the rules a little?"
I wanted to speak out and ask questions but I found myself speechless! "I am going to put everything in your way, every person that I can persuade every every bad guy I can buy out and every "natural coincidence" I can bestow upon you I will! I will put you through the worst hell you can imagine! Survive and I'll move to a new soul to torture and play with, but if you lose I'll erase you from existence! You can try and kill me I suppose but uh, you have failed every other time so just forget about it ok? No go! Wake up you fool! I didn't have those baboons hit and run you for you to die on me!" I could hear his laughter as the world around me slowly faded away.
