If I owned Kingdom Hearts, the main part of the game would involve lots of slashy goodness. It doesn't, and thus I don't
Ever since Riku left the darkness, something was missing. No matter what he did, how many hours he spent sitting on the Paopu Tree, how many sea-salt ice creams he devoured, he never felt quite right.
The last- and first- time he can ever remember that small piece of him in its proper place in his chest was right after he was released from Ansem, right after Sora saved him. The only time Riku remembers feeling completely Right in the world, was in Sora's arms after a long battle and neither of them wanted anything more than to return to Destiny Islands.
Even now, sitting next to him on the end of the docks, Riku could sense it coming back, that small emptiness ebbed slightly when he was close to his longest and best friend. Every time Sora let him shove him extra hard into a wall or when Sora closed his eyes and opened his mouth for when Riku relinquished the last bit of salt water taffy. He could have put anything in that waiting mouth! Did Sora have no sense of self preservation?
"Hey," Riku grunted, his eloquent speech leaving with the tide.
"Hnn?" Sora also felt the lazy sunset seep into his bones. Everything got slower, and there was no need to hurry.
"Why do you always let me do…whatever?"
"Whaddya' mean?" Riku had his attention now, while more common from the elder of the pair, serious conversation was a rare occurrence.
"If I tell you to do something, or if I just start acting on impulse, you'll go along with it."
"Of course I would, Riku, why wouldn't I?" Sora turned to his other half, his interest peaked and spelled openly across his round, innocent face.
"I could be doing anything! Remember once, when I was six and you were five, I lead you around blindfolded for a day. Anything could have happened! You could have run into poles, or fallen over ditches, or tripped over a step I didn't warn you about."
"But you didn't –"
"And it's still like that! It has always been like that. After… after The Fight, I could have killed you. You just let me do… whatever."
Sora laughed, surprised the other boy was worried over such an obvious question.
"Because I Trust you, Riku."
"Then jump," his demand was met with a bland look from Sora.
"That's just stupid."
"Close your eyes then?" And Riku, watching the only person he could say he knew as well as himself close his eyes and wait- just wait- he sat there for several minutes just letting Riku think of the sudden absence of the apparition that had hounded him since he left Sora for the darkness.
And leaning in, he knew that he could never betray Sora's trust that he so willingly gave. Not again. Not ever again.
He was surprised when the younger man returned the kiss. He accepted this token and reciprocated it.
And later, at the end of the night when Riku pulled the sheets up over the both of them and made sure his perfect match was comfortable as they cuddled into sleep, he knew he Trusted Sora just as much.
I just found this on my computer. I don't even remember writing it, so if it turns out that I'm ripping off someone else's story, don't hesitate to say so. I'd feel aweful if I took your stuff!
Other than that, I'm not at all sure how this turned out. Tell me, again, if there are any glaringly-horrible OOC parts, or if I got any of the game's plot wrong. Chances are that I did, so sorry y'alls for butchering the game.
How could I resist such a wonderful pairing?
(All reviews make a greater chance of slashy, smutty goodness)
