I totally don't know where this oneshot idea came from, but whatever. I just had to write it.

Disclaimer: Naruto is not mine.

A small frail boy of age 8 rested motionless in front of the railing of an old metal bridge, his knees tucked close to his skinny body, as he sat there waiting breathlessly for time to pass. The boy's onyx hair flayed itself out in a dirty manner after years of being kept uncombed and tangled, and his baby blue eyes were haunting like the mist that grazed the skies. The boys cloths were like rags and barely held tight enough to his pale, unkempt body.

His name was Haku.

Haku had grown up in the two years after his parent's... death if you will. He had learned to scavenge and thrive for a few months but in his calm nature there seemed no special abilities in his will. He was useless accept for the fact of his curse. The curse that caused him to be hated and feared among some villagers that recognized his kind. The ones that kept themselves fed enough to survive for weeks while he became full on a small limp chicken bone that they managed to throw out in fear that he might come in and kill them with his curse.

Haku loathed his 'ability'.

Now he sat unwavering on the bridge outside the village alone and starving. he wanted nothing more than to die like his parents had died... minus the reason why they had died. Haku had killed them, he had revealed his dear mother's secret and father had killed her. Then out of fear Haku had killed him. And out of all the times he pondered on his parents tragic deaths only one thought seemed to come to mind.

Did it hurt, he thought, Did it hurt when they died? When I killed them?. This thought had always brought him to tears. He had murdered his parents, he now lived hated alone on the streets, and he was on the verge of death and all he could think about was if it hurt! He was more concerned with their pain above everything else after they had died years ago! Haku wanted so much but to cry, but that was until footsteps were heard and he forced them back.

He then stared, again motionless. A dark haired man walked before him and stopped. He looked at Haku with cold eyes that were haunting, like his.

"You have eyes just like mine.",And many years had passed since then.

Haku lived 5 more years until he received his answer.

Now as those 5 years passed, Haku lied now motionless on the ground beside the dark haired man, motionless. He had given himself hoping to save his master; who ended up beside him dying anyway. Snow began to fall from the sky, and the boy Naruto cried harder. Haku used his curse... gift to make the skies cry snowy tears with him in the mist. Just like it would all the time in the land where he grew up.

Naruto had never seen death before.

Naruto stared with tears running down his cheeks at the long haired boy he had met not too long ago. The boy, Haku, was pale and cold and lifeless. He had died in a moment's flash after he had stopped Naruto from killing him like he had wanted him only seconds earlier. He had died being stabbed in the heart by Naruto's teacher, Kakashi. Now only moments after the boys death Naruto had one thought that plague his mind.

Naruto wondered if death had hurt.
