Wow it's been a while. Sorry about that, I couldn't think of anything decent to write. And I'm no longer in Naruto-land! Let me know what you think of this! It's just a short one shot…Oh, and I don't own any of this.
Everyone always wondered how she could love him. To tell the truth, she couldn't understand it either. He was rather arrogant, overly headstrong, never listened to her, and seemed coarse and unfeeling in just about every situation.
Needless to say, Rukia was disgusted with herself. "Out of all guys, I like Ichigo?!" she couldn't believe it.
Over time, however, she started to see him as he really was. Under the hard exterior that Rukia often swore you needed a pack of dynamite to blast through, there was the boy that Rukia fell for. He was actually pretty nice; he cared about his friends and wanted to keep them safe and happy. Now we're not saying that Ichigo was without flaws, this isn't a fantasy after all! He still has all of the above issues. For example, Ichigo still goes overboard trying to protect his friends, even when they are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves. And what Rukia can't stand the most, is that he is often rather angsty about, well, everything.
But that's where Rukia comes in. Putting Ichigo back in like and giving him the proper perspective or something to really cry about is her job!
The best part about the whole arrangement is that Ichigo feels the same way about her. He puts up with her self-righteousness and quick temper and her slight confusion (can you say juice boxes?), seeing her courage and her thoughtfulness as well as her ability to bend the rules to her favor.
Although their friends were a bit, well a lot, surprised at first, acceptance eventually comes around. And honestly, most of the others have seen so many odd things that things like this just don't cut it in the weird department. Even Orhime, who at first had her heart set on Ichigo, understands that these two are perfect together (even though one is dead…) and have since moved on.
Starting out as barely being able to stand being in the same room without killing each other, they've now become, well, Ichigo and Rukia.
