Steve ran towards the guy standing on the ledge. He wasnt going to let someone die, he couldn't. Steve got to the ledge just as he went over and managed to get a hold around his legs, but the momentum was too great and he felt himself being dragged over. Felt the edge of the roof drag against his legs and then he was falling, he heard Danny screaming his name as he went over.

He couldn't breathe, his heart felt like it wanted to burst out of his chest and his mind raced. This was not the way he wanted it all to end, it wasn't his time, he had to much to do, to see, to feel. He had too many people he loved that he didnt want to leave behind. With that thoughts begin to rush through his mind, his life was flashing before his eyes.

The time he returned home to the news that his mother had died, being sent away to the mainland, his sister, joining the navy, hearing his father's last words and the gunshot that had killed him, creating the taskforce, meeting the people who have become his extended family - Chin, Kono, Joe, Kamekona, Duke and above all the best friend he ever had, Danny and his beautiful daughter, who he had become an honourary uncle too.

He didn't want to leave them, not like this it wasn't his time. He had never felt so scared as he did now, he wanted time to stop and he prayed for it to stop. He wanted to be back on the beach outside his house, where they had only been a couple of days ago having a BBQ with all the people he loved most in the world. Laughing as Chin got dunked by Grace and Kono, sitting next to Danny, sharing a beer as the food cooked.

He closed his eyes and prepared for what was to come, prepared himself for the pain. Tears stung his eyes. He prayed it would be quick, that he wouldnt have to suffer and that his family wouldn't suffer, even though he knew they would. He knew how much they loved and cared for him.

His last thought were of his family as he hit the ground and felt pain explode through out his body. Two words slipped from his lips as the world faded.

"I'm Sorry." Steve whispered as the world went black.
