It was that time again. Yes, that one we are all so familiar with. Dumbledore got an odd twinkle in his eye as he looked at his watch. All the other professors sat around a round table during the days teacher's meeting.
"My fellow professors," he said with a smile, "how about a nice rousing kareoke party?" The reactions were as could be expected. Severus just sat there like the cold bat he was, trying his best to not process the thought of Helga (Hooch) singing her own rendition of "I'm too sexy." Minerva rolled here eyes but, as always, supported whatever Dumbledore decided. Helen, Filius (Flitwick), and Stella (Sinistra) tried to look disappointed, but were inwardly ecstatic. Poppy just "hmph"ed.
"I foresee no good will come of this, Albus," the misty faraway voice of Sybil Trelawney replied.
"Ah, good!" Albus smiled, ignoring the negative reactions, "It's settled then! I do believe we should make this a house competition.." At the sound of the words "house competition" Severus and Minerva immediately perked up and began to give each other the evil eye.
"Oh, and of course," Albus continued, standing up. "Professors are required to participate," he grinned and left the room, leaving behind many loud shouts of objection.

Attention Students!
There will be a kareoke party this Friday night!
You may sing any song you like and dress appropriately. If a muggle song, dress like muggles! There will be a handsome reward of house points and galleons* to the winners!

"Knight to E-5," proclaimed Ron triumphantly. Harry sighed as the white knight swiftly moved to position. "Checkmate!"
"Good game, Ron," Harry said. He might've said more but a high pitched squealing from the message board in the Gryffindor common room interrupted everyone's thoughts. Lavender and Parvati were squealing over a new announcement. Many students rushed to read the contents.
"Kareoke?" "I'm Inot/I singing!"
"Dress like muggles!! Not on your life!"
Such were the exclamations from the students. Ginny rushed over to the boys.
"Ooh, a kareoke party!" She grinned, " Will you be participating?" Ron and Harry though for about half a second.
"No." "Definitely not."
"Oh," said Ginny. " Come on! It'll be fun!"
"No," replied Ron. "I'd rather watch people make fools of themselves." Ginny narrowed her eyes.
"Well, of course," she scowled. "I mean, you must get tired of just making a fool of Iyour/Iself!" She stalked off to her dormitory. Ron and Harry just shook their heads.

In two separate rooms, of two separate houses, one boy and one girl were both getting the same letter. The boy opened his.
IAttention Head Boy: I'm sure by now you have heard about the kareoke party. You will be pleased to know that the Head Boy and Girl are required to participate! Please choose appropriate song and dress.
