We find ourselves upon a courtroom scene. On the Plaintiff side, L, Watari, and their co-counsel, codename: Jimmy Jackemoff. On the Defense side, Light Yagami, representing himself. The only other individuals in the room were the NPA's Kira Task Force, the two Interpol representatives (charged with escorting Light to prison were he to be found guilty), and their impartial judge. Most of the witness testimonies have been given, all in favour of the Plaintiff. The honourable Judge Wopner clears his throat. "Light Yagami—your witness."
Light stood, proudly, and without hesitation. He took the floor. "Your Honour; as my final witness, I call to the stand, 'The Ghost that Never Lies'. But I'm the only one who can hear him or see him, so he'll have to speak through me." The judge looks thoughtful for a moment. "Please proceed." Light smirks inwardly.
"Damn it!" L whispers harshly. "What is it?" Jimmy whispers back. "That rat bastard stole my witness! Ooh, I'll get you, Light Yagami… you just wait and see!"
