Hello all! So, I have not been writing on here for at least four months...so I needed a little oneshot to get back on track with my stories. What better than Peter Pan!
This is mainly based on the scene in the 2004 movie with Wendy debating about leaving, with my own little twist added in. I hope everyone like it, and if you don't...well I'm sorry :)
P.S. This is awfully short, and I'm sorry. If everyone feels this is good, I'm thinking about another sequel-oneshot about the flight and/or Neverland.
I MISSED YOU FANFICTION! *huggle* PLEASE R&R! I'd really appreciate it!
I DO NOT OWN PETER PAN! Well..other than my hardcover... XD

"To live will be an awfully big adventure." -Peter Pan
He led me towards the windowsill. My heart was pounding within my chest, my eyes constantly turning around and darting around the nursery with fear that someone would come and stop me from departing. But I soon realized that the only person who could prevent me from flying was I.
What about mother and father? They could step into the nursery and find three empty beds and a single open window. What then? And Nana? What will father possibly do to her with us no longer home? Will they all forget us? John and Michael did not seem to give this a second thought when they decided upon leaving.
If I depart, I never grow old. But my family in London will. What if one day I fly back home and the nursery is occupied with another group of children, who belong to another set of parents? I then would have lost everyone dear to me, and so would my brothers.
"Peter," I whispered quietly, facing the inside of the dimly lit room, "Is Neverland that far away?"
"Second to the right and straight on till' morning." He replied calmly, pointing to the star in the distant, midnight blue sky.
I could not help but awe at its beauty. There were mermaids, Indians, AND pirates inside Neverland. This was my one chance, to fly away and feel weightless. No more manners or hidden kisses; I do not need to become a woman. I can stay a girl forever.
"Forever is an awfully long time…" I murmured as I felt Peter grinning behind me.
The sky was calling me, the stars whispering silent temptations to fly. I closed my eyes and heard Tinker Bell dart around me. Soon my feet rose off of the ground and I felt weightless.
Then I knew what I had to do. I had to fly. I had to be free. I had to be the childish, naïve Wendy that went with instinct.
The stars seemed to shine a bit brighter as I flew away.
