Disclaimer: I never owned Star Wars. I didn't create it,
George Lucas did. I wouldn't mind owning the young Obi Wan
though (drools).
Waiting
by Grace in the Heavens
Padme was sitting down. Her head held high as if addressing
a crowd. But she was all alone, now and forever. She was
in a long gown of white, a crown on her head. She had
been elected as Queen of Naboo.
Her handmaidens would beg her to eat or sleep, but she
dismissed them. A doctor had come and said if she
continued on like this she would surely die. She thought
it was funny, for she was already dead inside. She heard
that Anakin, now the deadly Darth Vader had slaughtered
the Jedi's in the Temple. That would be almost all of
them. Her grief and loneliness was too much for her to
bear.
Her husband...some one she had loved dearly had died a long
time ago. Now he was only evil. They hadn't been married
for long when he began to turn. But she had never been
alone then. There was always a smile or a friendly hug
to fall into. She had changed so much from that
innocent love she had with Ani. But now she had no more
heart to go on. The one she lived for was dead. He died
at the hands of Darth Vader, and she wanted to do the
same.
She closed her eyes as more tears fell, not knowing what to
do next.
Slowly a man walked down the palace hall. Bloody and torn,
he breathed painfully as he slowly opened a huge door.
Then he saw her. She was beautiful as always. He forgot
his pain, all he knew was her. He coughed and said,
"Padme..." In a soft voice, he prayed she wasn't a dream
before death. Padme slowly opened her eyes. They stared
at each other for a long time, wondering if the other was
real.
Padme couldn't take it anymore. From her chair she ran
to the man. They embraced in a desparate hug. Then their
lips found each other. The kiss was filled with passion,
making up for lost time. They finally pulled away from
each other. They had dropped to their knees, gasping for
breath. He whispered, "Padme....?" In a longing, sweet
voice. She smiled back and whispered, "I love you...
my Obi Wan..." They stayed like that 'til the sun set,
in utter happiness.
