"ACHOO!"
Shigure looked around for the perpetrator of the feminine sneeze to find her coming down the stairs. "Since Hatori is already here for Yuki's checkup before school, maybe you should have him take a look at you too Tohru. This household would fall apart if you were to fall ill, maybe you should stay home from school. I would be more than willing to take care of you-" and he was cut off by both Hatori's glare and Yuki's fist to the back of his head.
"No, no, I'm fine, just caught a little chill from sleeping on the roof is all!"
"Tohru, what on earth were you doing sleeping on the roof and what happened to your hair?" Yuki chided as the two adults looked on.
There stood Tohru with what most would assume was just a bad case of bed head. However, to the amusement of everyone in the room, her disheveled hair distinctly resembled two perfectly shaped ears. A pair of cat ears if they had to be specific.
"Oh well, you see, there was a meteor shower last night, so I went to the roof to watch. And well, you know Kyou is almost always up there anyway so he kept me company. We stayed up and watched the shooting stars and talked about a lot of stuff. He wanted to know what my mom was like and what we did together and I told him that we used to talk and play with each other's hair. Well he asked if I wanted to play with his and so I did. Then he told me to turn around and did my hair. It was so relaxing that I must have fallen asleep while he was doing it. The style's a bit messy but I kind of like it. It did feel like he was putting a lot of effort into it, and he already left for school so he didn't get to see it in the light so I'll wear it like this today!"
Three sweat drops appeared on the men in the kitchen but something different caught Hatori's careful eye.
"Tohru, is that Kyou's bracelet you're wearing?"
"Oh NO! I would never wear his bracelet, well you know why. But I told him the other day that I really liked it and later he gave me this one. He made it himself too, it was really thoughtful and -ACHOO!"
"Tohru, just in case you might be getting sick, maybe you should wear a sweater or something to keep you warm?" Yuki asked thoughtfully.
"Oh, I would, but I just put all of my warm clothes in the washer. Well, I am feeling a little under the weather…I know! I'll borrow one of Kyou's hoodies. I'll wash it as soon as we get home so he won't get mad." and she bounded up the stairs before anyone could say anything else.
"Hurry up Tohru, Hatori's done with me and we don't want to be late for school."
And no sooner had Yuki finished his sentence then Tohru was back down the stairs wearing Kyou's favorite light blue hoodie.
"Well shall we?" and Yuki walked out onto the patio.
"Yes we shall!" Tohru giggled and followed along. They took off down the trail, Yuki in his school uniform and Tohru with her cat ears, beaded bracelet, and Kyou's blue hoodie.
"You know Hatori, I think that there is a saying…"
"And what would that be Shigure?" as Hatori looked off in the distance with a grin on his face.
"Oh I don't know, something about people looking like their pets. But who is whose pet in this case I wonder?"
"I don't think it really matters."
"No, I suppose not."
