"Grr…!" Emmett cornered me at my locker with a semi-fierce, somewhat comical snarl on his face. Something akin to what you'd get if you asked the tiger on the cereal box to be fierce.
In summary, I'd seen scarier looking supermodels.
"Um." I looked back at my locker, and back to Emmett. What? "Right…okay. Are you okay?"
And by okay, I did not mean, are you hungry? No, I meant, do you need to see the school counselor and get sub-par psychological help?
Emmett, I concluded, clearly thought I meant the first, as his slobbery attack on my neck proved.
"Emmett!" I shrieked, digging a tissue out of my bag to clean any germs or..whatever…off of my skin. "That's disgusting! What's wrong with you?"
Emmett snickered, taking my books from my hand, and waved them around as he talked.
"So, Edward is going to kill me but…" Emmett grinned, "This was worth it in more ways than I can count."
"So math isn't your strong suit." I grumbled, slamming my locker shut.
Emmett snorted. "It's your fault."
"How can you possibly construe this as being my fault?"
"You told that uh-Angela, girl that I'm harmless." The look on Emmett's face was one of great offense. "That-and I quote-he's as harmless as an overgrown teddy bear."
"And your solution to that was to go wild on me in front of my locker?" I didn't quite understand.
"Nope." Emmett shook his head, stopping at the door of my history class and handing my books. "I'm gonna scare Mike Newton and instigate a fight with Jasper after school."
He grinned widely. "Bye Bella."
Emmett jogged off, and I could only watch in shock, hoping sincerely that was all a really, really big joke.
