Buzzwang displaced the disclaimer saying that I don't own any Galaxy Rangers characters. As a little experiment I thought I'd do some musings from Buzzwang's point of view.

Helpful

Depressed? Why would I be depressed?

I achieved my greatest dream of becoming a Galaxy Ranger. That's a big breakthrough for an android like me.

Okay so sometimes I make tiny little mistakes.

Like accidentally stapling Q-Ball to one of his machines while it was running.

Fortunately he didn't break any bones and his burns were really mild. And thanks to the mild concussion on his head he hardly remembers anything.

The important thing is that I am more than a useful tool.

I'm helpful. There is a difference.

Useful implies that you are nothing more than something to be used. A thoughtless, meaningless pawn.

Helpful implies that you want to go out and assist whenever possible.

It's a small distinction I admit but an important one.

I guess I'm a little sad today because I wasn't exactly helpful on our last mission.

But it's not totally my fault. If Ranger Hartford didn't want me to jump up and down he should not have said hop to it!

How was I supposed to know he just wanted me to hurry up and not literally jump up and down?

How was I supposed to know those boards of the floor I was jumping on would break?

How was I supposed to know that we'd both fall right through to some underground chamber where there was a very large and very angry monster with eight tentacles, twenty six eyes and big sharp teeth?

I don't know why Ranger Hartford is mad. He only got a few bruises and a broken finger. I'm the one who had to have the bite marks sanded out of his metal hide! Not to mention I broke my leg, and my arms, and a few other computer chips in my system.

Well they needed to be replaced anyway.

Human slang is just so confusing. I guess it's one of the things I need to work on.

If I work on that I will be more helpful!

That is what I will do! I will study human slang and start talking in it all the time!

That will make up for my mistake! I feel so much better now!

I am still a Galaxy Ranger! And Galaxy Rangers help people.

I'm not only useful. I'm helpful.
