The Burger

"Doctor?" The whinning voice of Rose Tyler echoed through the TARDIS.

"What?"

"I want actual food, I'm tried of that weird TARDIS stuff."

The TARDIS made a sound of irritation at the criticism of her food.

"I think you offended her." He patted the console lightly. "So where do you want to go?"

"There's this place back home, wait, you've been there."

"The plastic Rickey, and champagne place?"

"Yeah, that one." She was nearly laughing at how his memory worked.

"Whatever you say." The TARDIS plummeted toward London, Earth. He ran down the slope grabbing his leather jacket from the railing. "You coming?"

"Your enthusiasm astounds me."

"What's wrong with enthusiasm?"

"Nothing." She shook her head amusedly.

"Well, come on then."

Rolling her eyes Rose followed. They walked in and sat down. "I need to use the lou be back in a tick." While she was gone the waitress came.

"What would you like?" She seemed to thoroughly hate her job.

"I'll have a burger and chips."

"Is that it?" She asked in a clipped tone, obviously showing her option of her job.

"No, I'm waiting for someone, she should be back soon." She sighed exasperated.

"Sorry, have you ordered?" Rose said as she sat back in her seat.

"Yeah."

"What da' ya' want?" The waitress asked in the same annoyed tone.

"Pizza and chips." Without saying anything the waitress walked away, muttering to herself. "Someone loves their job." Their food arrived, after delivering which the waitress quickly left. "Is that a burger?"

"What's wrong with that?" He asked biting off about half of the burger, his cheeks puffed like a chipmunk.

"I thought you're a pacifist?"

"Am was ss fat soapo fo shop may feeting fis?" He replied, breaking all rules of table manners, his mouth still filled with food.

"What?"

He swallowed and repeated his response. "And why is that supposed to stop me eating this?

"Doesn't that make you a vegetarian?"

"Pacifism doesn't make me a vegetarian. I enjoy a greasy patty of ground mystery meat as much as the next bloke."
