Traces
I exhale on the cold glass a breathy prayer
Through frost I etch your eyes sublime
With these gloved fingers of mine
I allow your submissive kiss
And out of mercy paint a smile on the window.
-
As I walk through the hall
Ghosts emerge unbidden as my quickened pulse
They weave a waltz around us
Pulling us close
I recall your confusion
Like the first green in spring.
-
You were so cruel
Accepting my hand
Without understanding the dance
Leaning against me
But not hearing my heart.
-
The wooden steps gasp and groan,
Uplifting the weight of two
Up to the arch of my chambers
Where the silence amplifies
And appreciates our sighs.
-
And then I remember
I wake up
Only to wonder when I will revive
No power, no power, no power
Over meā¦over you.
-
You are whisper
Only a whisper in the dark
The wind howls as the rain beats against your face
And through the window
Sublime eyes are crying.

Orientalbunny: Hi, I know I should be working on my story but I have a little writer's block and thought I would have a bit of poetic fun. I only like the first and last stanza of my poem but I figure, I got to start somewhere. Reviews will help me fine tune this poem so don't hold back. Oh, and the lines seperating the stanzas are there because for some reason, even though I space them out before uploading, for some reason all the lines of my poem are not spaced out anymore, so out of frustration, I had to resort to cheating. Have a good one!
