A/N: Hi there! so I thought I'd attempt writing a full length story... I hope you like it! Also, thanks greenpeanutbutterzebras98 for prcticaally threatening me to upload something! I hope all goes well!

Prologue.

A loud sounding alarm tore the man from his sleep, surprising him before he realized it was only his cell phone alarm. Every morning this happened, it was the only way Tom would separate himself from his bed. Being the CEO of a major toy company, he had to be up bright and early. He also had to make time for his favorite luxury, the coffee shop on the corner of the street.

Everyday, he would awake, get a shower, get dressed, and go for breakfast on the street corner. Today would be the same, the same never ending routine.

As he grabbed his keys from the counter, he looked out the window and noticed a man standing by the coffee shop. He looked a little thin and pale but otherwise sort of attractive. He looked away and stuffed his wallet into his pocket before exiting the apartment and making his way outside. Crossing the street, Tom further inspected the newcomer. He hair a mat of what Tom concluded to be curly, brown hair. His clothes were a bit torn, and the man looked a little off his balance. Nonetheless, Tom felt compelled to speak to him.

"Hi, I'm Tom," he stated as he reached the mysterious man.

"D-Danny," the man slurred, extending his hand. Tom took it and shook, not wanting to appear rude. He could tell the man was trying to be semi presentable, but that he was also either drunk or hungover.

"Are you okay, um, Danny? Do you need a ride home?" Tom offered.

"Oh no, I couldn't ask you that, especially when we've just met," Danny denied.

"Alright then, I guess I better be going. It's about work time and I still haven't gotten my coffee," Tom chuckled, waving goodbye and entering the shop.

He waited in line until he was met face to face with the barista, his best friend. "Hey Tom, here's your usual," the boy behind the counter said, handing him a bag of food and a steaming latte.

"Thanks Dougie. You make such a cute waitress," he joked, pinching his friend's cheek. Dougie scowled at him and leaned forward across the counter.

"Did you see that guy outside? I saw him sleeping beside the employee entrance in the alley this morning. He had a bottle of booze and half a blanket pulled over him. I, I think he's homeless dude," he whispered in Tom ear.

It dawned on Tom then, of course Danny had denied Tom's offer to take him home. He didn't have one. "Yeah, I saw him. Talked to him, he's pretty nice."

"Nice looking," Dougie winked.

"You're such a creep Doug," Tom laughed, walking away from his friend after getting threats and dirty glances from customers waiting behind him.

He left the shop and walked toward his company, sipping his coffee and thinking about the experience he'd had with Danny. He concluded that he had to help him, and not just because he had the potential to be good looking. He was going to help the brunette because he saw something special in him, something few people possessed now a days.
