I thought I should post one of my stories, and stop being a lurker here :D I wrote this for a prompt on the YJ-anon meme, but I thought some of you might enjoy it as well ^^ Sorry for any grammatical errors, english isn't my first language ^^'
Prompt: Kind of a crazy prompt with mpreg and I'm super embarrassed about it, but ...
Wally ends up pregnant and it's up to Barry Allen, scientist extraordinaire and crazily overprotective uncle, to find out who done the deed. A situation from their last mission (sex pollen, magic, etc) makes it so that all the YJ boys are suspect, maybe even Roy and shape-shifted Megan ^_^''
Up to the anon as to how/why Wally ended up pregnant, how the team/dad reacts and who is the daddy. Can be humor or angst.
Bonus if Iris and Hal Jordan get in on the over-protectiveness.
It may not be exactly like the prompt say, but still, enjoy~
Wally sat at the kitchen table staring at the unappetizing food in front of him. His aunt Iris patted him on the back.
"I know it doesn't look good sweetie, but if you have the stomache flu, it's the best you can eat. I'm just going out to the store to pick up some things. Eat as much as you can handle and go to bed after, okay?" he nodded and she gave him a kiss on top of his head and walked out of the kitchen.
Wally sighed and held his stomache. He knew that it wasn't the flu, he had known for nearly a week, before aunt Iris had found him yesterday in the morning hours hurling up into the toilet. He was going to tell them, both uncle Barry and Iris, today when they were home.
He quickly finished his meal and walked up to his room and went to bed.
Wally awoke about four hours later at noon. He slowly rose up from his bed and changed into a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. As he made his way down the stairs, he heard uncle Barry laugh at something aunt Iris had said. His lips narrowed and he knew that they would not be happy for what he was about to tell them. But he had to.
When Barry and Iris saw him in the doorway, they stopped talking and smiled at him.
"Hey Kid, feeling better?" Barry asked. Wally nodded and decided that it was now or never.
"Actually, I don't think I have the stomache flu. Or rather, I know I don't have the stomache flu." he paused and both Iris and Barry looked confused.
"I'm sort of, like, pregnant." he said and looked down. Wally looked up and was met with a Barry that looked like he was trying to do anything but go out and castrate the one who had done his nephew harm.
"You're... pregnant?" he asked unsure. Wally nodded.
"I took a test and it showed positive." Barry didn't even think about how he got the test. Instead, he immediately started to panic and talking to himself, to quick for Iris to catch it, although she sat at the table staring blankly at the wall, so it was a wonder if she could hear anything but her own thoughts.
Barry turned to his nephew and calmed down enough to ask the question he wondered the most.
"Who is the father?" His gaze turned dark. Wally tried to look anywhere else than his uncle's face.
"..." he mumbled.
"What?" asked Barry again.
"IsaidIdon'tknow." he quickly got out. They were both quiet for a second, which felt like hours to the speedsters.
"It was on our mission with Poison Ivy, she dozed us with some kind of toxic. I think I blacked out and I don't remember anything." he mumbled. He looked up but saw no Barry, and he froze up. He knew where he was going. He needed to help them, but first he had to take care of aunt Iris.
It was a calm day in Happy Harbour. Wally had called in sick yesterday and knowing the Flash, he wouldn't be allowed to come to the cave for at least two more days. Robin, Superboy and Kaldur sat and watched tv. Roy was there too, for some reason. Artemis had gone out training with Green Arrow, Megan was out with Martian Manhunter and Batman didn't have any missions for them. Robin sighed and flipped the channel, much to Superboy's irritation, and yawned.
"If nothing happens soon I might go to Arkham Asylum and bust the Joker out myself." he groaned as he continued to watch the crappy show. Noone bother to reply and he sunk further into the couch, eyes dropping slowly.
The Zeta-Beam suddenly went off. The boys immediately sprung to their feet and walked to it, secreetly hoping it was Batman who would give them a mission.
"Recognized-" the artificial voice could barely make out the words before something zipped forward and hit Robin and all the others in the neck, succesfully making them all drop unconcious.
Robin woke up with a start, sitting in a pitch black room. He could feel the prescence of his teammates, but also a darker unfamiliar prescence just in front of him. He wondered if it was a villain, but focused more on his surronding. He was sitting in a chair, with a table in front of him. He wasn't bound and he smirked because if this was a villain, he clearly was a rookie. It was quiet.
All of a sudden, a bright light startled them. Robin, Kaldur and Roy shielded their eyes while Superboy just narrowed them.
A pair of hands slammed forcefully into the table before them, making all of them jump up in the air. When they saw the face that belonged to the hands, Robin realized that it wasn't a villain, but something that were a hundred-and-ten times more powerful and dangerous. The Flash, who looked like he had obtained Superman's heat vision and wanted to melt them away, starting with their eyes.
"Hello everybody." he said and tried to smile, but his eyes and the tone he said it in made it look odd and even disturbing. "I only need to ask some questions and if you lie I will most likely snap your necks, okay?" noone dared to do anything else than nod and the Flash seemed to hold back himself.
"Do any of you remember the mission about a month ago? You were all going to stop Poision Ivy from taking the samples from the herbal research and we found all of you out-cold and she had escaped?" he said with accusatory tone.
They all looked back and forward between eachother. They had already explained it to Batman and the Justice League and they had left it behind them.
Well, apparently the Flash hadn't. Robin hesitatingly nodded and so did the others. Eventhough neither of them were bound they didn't want to try and outrun the fastest man alive. Especially not the fastest, most pissed off man alive.
"Do anyone remember anything about a toxic? Yes or no." he said sternly and all of the boys quietly said yes. The Flash asked his next question.
"What effect did it have?" he asked and his eyes still looked ready to kill, as if he dared them to say a word wrong.
Flash let out a growl when noone spoke and seeing as it would piss him off waiting, Robin nervously started to tell him with a blush on his face.
"It makes you.. um..." he couldn't finish the sentence, so Kaldur continued with a straight face.
"It's called sex pollen and makes the one who inhale it blinded by lust. But since we were not concious when the league found us, it seems that the toxic made us pass out instead."
While Kaldur talked the Flash's eyes grew bigger and he was just about to lose it when a door opened behind him and a dark figure held him back. He struggled and the boys got up from their chairs and backed away.
"Calm down." the figure, Batman, said. "I know it upsets you, but the boy needs support from both you and the father." Barry almost wondered how Bruce had found out, but he was Batman and of course he would've already known.
If the boys were confused before, they were even more confused now. Roy stepped forward, but not too close to the Flash.
"What the hell is going on? What's with the interrogation and what are you talking about?" he yelled.
"You brought them here without telling them?" Batman asked and Barry snorted.
"One of them know, I'm sure of it!" he continued to struggle.
"Telling us what?" Superboy said with his eyebrows furrowed together.
"One of you bastards knocked up my nephew!" Flash growled.
Robin and Roy stared in shock at the Flash, Kaldur's reaction was smaller but you could clearly see that he was trying to find some sort of lie in the words spoken and Superboy was just confused, obviously not familiar with the meaning of 'knocked up'.
"He's pregnant?" said Kaldur skeptically, not believing it at all.
"You think I would be this angry for nothing?" he had started to calm down, but Batman still had a powerful grip on his arms.
Kaldur looked understanding and turned his head.
"Of course not, Flash. I was just taken aback by the shocking news." he said. "Where is Wally now?"
"He's with his aunt-" Barry was interrupted by the door that slammed open.
"Oh thank god you're all okay I thought he had thrown you into a vulcano or something!" Wally quickly said, relief showing in his face. He zipped over to his teammates and started to look for bruises or any sign of hurt.
Batman's grip loosened and Barry took the chance to break away. The moment he was free he took a hold of Wally and was a the other side of the room before anyone could blink.
"Nobody touches him without my permission, which I will never give." Barry said and held an protective arm around his nephew. "I wanna know who the father is, so I can personally make his life miserable." he added with a chilly tone coming from his voice. The boys unconciously moved closer to the much more brighter person in comparision, Batman.
"We'll find out eventually." Batman said in a dark tone that was still far more pleasant than the Flash's right now. He looked over to the four scared boys.
"In the meantime, you should do as he says." he added and disappeared soundlessly through the door. The Flash wasn't far behind and led out Wally past his teammates. Wally smiled and waved at them.
When all of them were gone, Robin, Roy and Kaldur let out a shaky breath they didn't realize they had held. Superboy just stood still and looked out of the door.
"Where are we?" he asked and everyone went out to see what he meant by that. Roy blinked stupidly.
"Is that a polar bear?" Kaldur said and Robin quickly typed in something on his wrist-computer. He groaned when he read the coordinates.
"That bastard left us in Arctic!" he exclaimed.
They had managed to contact Batman and made him pick them up with the Batplane, and were now sitting in the Justice cave, waiting for Wally while fearing for their lives. He had called them and said he would sneak out the house when he had the chance.
Suddenly the Zeta-Beam activated itself. The team, now including Artemis and Megan too, ran off to the large room. They were met by an smiling Wally in civvies and he waved at them. Robin was just about to wave back, when he noticed the glares of the Flash and the Green Lantern, Hal Jordan. His arm fell limply to his side and he gave off an nervous smile.
"Hello Mr. Flash." he said and tried not to flinch when the glare seemed to intensify.
Megan and Artemis greeted them and the Flash and the Green Lantern's gaze softened. Roy snorted, obviously sour about the attitude change for the girls.
"Hello Megan, Artemis. Nice to see you" Barry said almost smiling. He pushed Wally forward to the girls, with the words;
"Stay with them while I talk to the boys, okay?" Wally nodded and Megan happily dragged him away, followed by Artemis, and Megan asked questions, curious about his condition.
The Flash turned around and the glare was back on. The Green Lantern's face had a softer expression, but equally unforgiving.
"Don't worry, I won't kidnap you again... right now." the Flash said. "Follow me." he started to go to the living room, all of them following him.
"Sit." said the Green Lantern and the team obediently sat down on the couch, while the two older superheroes stood in front of them.
"Since we don't know who the father of my nephew's child is," Flash said, clenching his fists and tried to refrain from strangling everyone of them "we decided to talk to you all about this." he made a gesture to show that he spoke for Green Lantern too.
"I've talked to Wally and he says that he wants to keep the baby. Meaning that as soon as he begins to show, he will be inactive during missions." he said.
"Why not longer?" Robin asked and the two olders glared at him.
"We wear spandex, it's not like he can hide it." snapped Green Lantern and Robin shrank back against the cushion.
"And I can't stop him from hanging out with you here, but he and all of you needs to follow the basic rules. Number one, there should always be a Justice League member inside the cave. If there isn't anyone, Wally stays home." Flash said and when the team nodded he continued.
"Rule number two, there should always be plenty of food for him."
"Number three, if anything happens I want to be the first one to know." everyone nodded, since those rules seemed pretty fair.
"And rule number four, if you touch him in a way that is not allowed in a kids movie, you'll die. That is, if you're lucky." he looked straight at Roy and the teen swallowed nervously.
The boys looked at the Green Lantern for support, but he looked unbothered by the fact that his friend just threatened them.
"We'll leave now and if I find out that you don't respect my rules, Wally will stay home." with that, both of them went out of the door.
The team didn't dare to move from their place in the couch and Megan and Artemis entered the room after a while. They both sat down in the armchairs in the living room. After some moments of silence did Artemis talk.
"I feel pity for the father."
The team were at the base in the kitchen area, all of them staring at Wally eating a big portion of something that didn't look like anything you would want to stuff into your mouth, but Wally took big mouthfuls of it with a content smile on his face. Red Tornado was somewhere in the cave, in case he was needded.
As Barry promised, Wally got to participate in their almost daily missions. They always made sure he had at least one teammate with him all the time and Wally didn't mind.
But the supposed-to-be two more months until he started to show, became barely one. The first one to point it out was not Barry, but Roy. And he brought up the subject very delicately.
"Dude, you're fat." Or not. Megan gasped and all of the others glared at Roy. Wally stopped with his fork halfway to his mouth, both shocked and maybe a little hurt.
"Dude, that's harsh." he said and then proceeded to eat his food. When he noticed that the others was staring at him, he finished his bite and continued.
"Of course I've noticed it, it's my body. And it's not supposed to go this fast, but I figured it have to be because of my powers." he started to eat again. That didn't stop the staring.
"Wait a minute, you mean that your pregnancy is sped up?" Kaldur asked seriously. Wally nodded and said something that neither of them could make out, mostly because he talked with his mouth full of that gross-looking thing he called food.
"What?" Roy asked after a short silence since Wally hadn't made the effort to repeat himself.
"I said that i'ts probably about three to four months left." he said and put down the fork, finally done eating.
"Wally, have you visited a doctor yet? To see that the child is healthy and all?" Kaldur asked in his typical leader-voice.
"Um, no? I'm kinda a dude if you didn't notice it, I think they would be pretty suspicious." he said and shrugged. Kaldur didn't care and looked straight at Roy.
"You call the Flash and tell him to book a checkup with a doctor of the Justice League." Roy looked at him as if he was stupid.
"No way I'm talking to him, he'll skin me alive. I'd rather call Batman and tell him." Roy said.
"Okay, call Batman then." sighed Kaldur.
"I wasn't serious. Let the Boy Wonder call or even Wally. Nobody should feel the wrath of another's mentor." he shuddered.
In the end, Robin sacrificed himself and called Batman. Well, it was not really a sacrifice since Robin was talking casually and occasionally laughing at something the one on the other line said. With a final chuckle Robin said goodbye fifteen minutes later and hung up. He then turned to the team and his eyes widened.
"Crap, I forgot why I called." the others mentally face-palmed.
After another call, this one successful, the team got picked up by Batman, who despite the news, looked pretty calm. Robin had figured out long ago that not much went unnoticed by the world's greatest detective.
Wally had to sit in the front, because the others sure as hell didn't want the Flash to see Wally squeezed in between Kaldur and Roy. Even though it was the car of Batman, it wasn't designed to have more than seven seats. Megan and Artemis sat at the very back, Robin, Roy and Kaldur sat in the middle and Superboy had to travel in the trunk. He wasn't happy at all.
The drive was filled with silence, the only source of sound was the wind outside and the radio that played old songs from the sixties. Nobody dared to ask Batman to change station.
There was suddenly a very high-pitched squeal coming from Megan and she saw a big white sign. She turned from the window, met Batman's eyes in the rearview mirror and stared with big, pleading eyes.
"Please Mr. Batman, can we stop for icecream?" she said in a sweet voice.
Batman looked over his shoulder to say a nice but firm no, but that was an mistake. Now the whole group looked at him, minus Superboy who still sulked in the trunk. Everyone smiled wide and said 'Pleeaasee?' at the same time.
"... fine." he muttered. With a sigh, he returned his focus on the road again and pulled in after the sign. Robin high-fived Megan, a small grin showing on his face. He whispered to himself;
"Robin: 62, Batman: 0."
When they arrived at the hospital, Batman led them to the back of the building, to an average sized dorr hidden by bushes. He muttered something about being cautious.
Once they were inside, they stopped and looked at the completely empty halls. Everyone turned to the older mentor.
"Where are all the people?" Kaldur asked and then looked forward again as if to show Batman that there really wasn't anyone in sight. As if on cue, a nurse with big glasses and dark blonde hair tied in a ponytail rounded the corner. When she saw the group, she started to walk towards them with a smile on her face. She stretched out her hand and let everybody shake it before she presented herself.
"Nice to meet you all, I'm Hanna. Which one of you is Wally?" she asked and swept her gaze on everyone. Wally raised his hand and she smiled wider.
"Good, can you please follow me, we're going to take some tests. The rest of you can go to the other room and wait. You can read some magazines or something. Okay?" she said.
"Can't we just come with him?" Roy asked and the other teammates nodded. But Hanna shook her head.
"Sorry, but you can't. Flash's orders." she started to walk and Wally followed her.
Everybody stood still and watched the room Wally had been led into. The first to move was Batman, who sat down on the couch and picked up a furniture magazine. The next one to move was Artemis and then all of the others sat down as well.
After a few minutes of reading boring articles, Robin looked up, as if he suddenly remembered something. He turned to his mentor.
"She said 'Flash's orders'. Does that mean he's here?" he asked and Batman nodded shortly without taking his eyes of the page.
"He called the nurse and told her about the situation, she has helped a lot of superheroes in the years." Batman's eyes shifted to another place in the magazine. "He's with Wally." everyone turned their eyes down the corridor in curiosity.
"He was already here, right?" Megan asked while turning her head back to Batman, who shook his head.
"No, he arrived about two minutes ago. I'm not surprised that you didn't notice, but he did stop for about three seconds and glared at all of you before he walked in to the room Wally's in." he replied without changing expression.
All of the boys tensed up at that, while Megan and Artemis just shrugged and continued to read.
"I'll pray for all of you." Batman said quietly and turned page.
Hanna showed up after ten minutes and asked the boys to follow her to one of the rooms and take a blood test.
"Why do you need our blood?" asked Superboy cautiously. She picked up a syringe from a little tray and turned to them.
"We're gonna find out who the father is. I bet all of you want to know." she took Roy's arm and put a strap on the upper arm and then slowly pierced the needle into the skin. When the capsule was full she put a band-aid on the wound and then continued with Robin, then Kaldur.
They had a little problem with Superboy, his skin didn't want to break, and in turn he broke the needle instead. Hanna sighed and opened the cabinet, pulling out a syringe with a needle big as her pinky.
"Should've known you were like Superman." she muttered before she succesfully pricked the skin and drew out some blood.
"So, how long is it going to take?" Robin asked when they were led out back to the waiting room.
"Not too long, between ten and fifteen minutes." she patted him on the back reassuringly. She waved at them and then walked away soundlessly. The boys joined the girls and Batman in the waiting room, all of them silent.
After fifteen minutes, as promised, Hanna was back with both the test results and Wally and the Flash. Everyone put their magazine away, even Batman, and stood up.
"Well, I have the result here." she looked down on her notes and then at Wally. "Do you want to tell them?" she whispered and he nodded with a nervous smile. It was quiet for a while. Wally took a deep breath.
"It's you, Robin." he said and looked straight at the boy. Robin's lips turned upward immediately and his eys lit up.
"Really?" he said and when Wally nodded, he ran forward and hugged him, ignoring the others. Before he could do anything else, somebody gripped his arm. He looked up and was met by the Flash's glare.
"Robin, can we talk outside?" he said flatly and Robin could only nod in reply. He didn't let go off the younger boy's arm until they were standing outside the hospital, the same way they had come from.
Robin had expected anything from getting scold by or being brutally murdered on the spot. What he didn't expect was that the Flash would grin and hug him tightly. Robin's eyes were wide and when the Flash pulled away, he started to explain himself.
"I'm sorry if I seemed to harsh for all of you, but I wanted to make sure that all of you care about Wally." he paused and looked at the door.
"I'm glad it's you. Don't get me wrong. It's just that, Megan have feelings for Superboy and he has feelings for her, eventhough he might not know it yet. Roy would always protect him and care for him, but he wouldn't be able to be with him all the time and still become the hero he wants to be. While Aqualad would be responsible, he would never accept Wally as anything other than a friend. And eventhough you are young, I know that you care about Wally and would never hurt him. And to be honest, he feels the same about you." he looked straight at Robin and his grin turned into a soft smile.
Robin found himself ginning back.
"I guess that means I got your approval. But you're wrong about one thing." he said and Flash's smile disappeared.
"What's that?" he asked with confusion in his voice.
"I don't just care about Wally. I love him. From the first time we met and until now, and I will always love him." he said seriously. Flash chuckled and his hand went up to his cowl, dragging it off and revealing a blonde man with a big smile.
"Well then, welcome to the family West, I'm Barry, nice to met you." he said and stretched out his hand. Robin grasped it and shook it.
"Nice to meet you Barry. I'm Dick Grayson." he said and took off his sunglasses. He put them back quickly after and Barry did the same with his cowl.
Robin reached for the door handle, but was stopped by Barry. He rubbed his neck nervously.
"By the way, can you still pretend that I'm scary? It's kinda fun, actually." he laughed a little. Robin nodded.
"Of course." he said and then they both went inside.
Robin barely got the chance to step inside before Wally was standing right in front of him with worried eyes.
"Are you okay?" he asked and cupped his face, checking for injuries. Robin blushed a little and took a hold of his hands.
"I'm fine." he smiled at him and Wally smiled back. Hanna suddenly coughed. They turned around and upon seeing everyone watching them with amusement, they let go of eachothers hands and looked away, both equally red in the face.
"We still need to make an ultrasound, so if you could just follow me." she started to walk away and the rest of them followed.
The room was not that big and they all had to stand close to eachother to fit. Wally had to lie down on an examination table in the middle of the room. When Hanna had fixed the equipment she turned to Wally with a smile on her face.
"Everything's set up, I just need you to take off your shirt, please." Barry almost looked as if he was going to protest, but a look from Batman made him shut up.
Wally didn't even hesitate and obediently took his shirt off. They group couldn't help but stare. The bump on his stomach wasn't that big yet, but none of them had seen it without a piece of clothing over before. It made everthing more real for them.
"Good, now you can lean down and try to keep still." she said and retrieved a tube of some weird liquid. Wally grasped Robin's hand just as she started to smear the liquid over the bump.
"Cold." he explained silently making Robin chuckle. Hanna turned on the screen on a little machine and held what Robin guessed was the camera.
"Ready?" she asked and when both Wally and Robin nodded, she put the camera on Wally's stomache and looked at the screen. She smiled brightly while everyone else scrunched their eyes. She pointed to the screen and started to explain what she saw, but all the others could see was dots and blobs.
Suddenly, she stopped the camera and went back, looking amused.
"Huh." she said and searched a little more. Wally peeked up curiously.
"What is it?" he asked. After a last look at the screen, she turned around yet again with a smile.
"The babies look healthy and your theory about your pregnancy being sped up seems true, I'd say you have three to four months left." the others looked shocked. Robin decided to check again just to make sure.
"The babies?" he asked and she nodded.
"Congratulations, you're expecting twins." there was suddenly a big thump at the back of the room, and everyone turned around only to see the fearless Batman laying on the floor, passed out from the shock.
"... should we help him?" Superboy asked. Barry looked at him and shook his head.
"No, ignore him, he just wants attention." he said seriously.
