Disclaimer: I don't own Link, or Zelda, or Gannon, or an ocarina, much less the series of the legend of Zelda. I don't own anything, so don't sue me. PLEASE! ^__^

If you were here. with me. It wasn't your fault either. It was his. Gannon. You died that day.

Link: I stared into a pool of my own blood wondered what would happen to you, to Hyrule. I had worked so hard, so long, just to die. I can't tell you my thoughts, but if you can hear me. sorry.

And that was it. Link fell to the ground as the massive monster, Gannon, laughed in triumph. He tore Link's body apart and left the final blow for the lava to deal. A thousand voices rang in my head. Kill him! Jump to the lava below! Call for the Sages! I felt sick. But it couldn't end. Not yet, it couldn't. For a time, I thought that I would have to jump. But he was coming, and I had to do something. Still beside me, blade driven into the ground, was the Master sword. It was my only way to fight. I reached for the hilt to pull it out. To my surprise, it came out from the ground rather easily, but it was heavy and hard to control. As Gannon drew closer, I could feel warmth in the handle. The sword grew steadily lighter. I raised it up over head and took a swing at the flames, which parted. It was still awkward, but at least I could defend myself. I felt a deep rage building inside me. I ran at Gannon, caring nothing for the consequences, and swung. It was as if Link was still there, guiding my hands. The blade struck Gannon squarely in the space under the kneecap, and severed some tissue. He was caught off guard thanks to his celebration in defeating Link. He bent low in pain and I struck again, this time to the face, and he lost balance. He fell at my feet and raised my sword for the final blow. I was flung sideways by a strike with his tail. I pushed myself up with the Master Sword and rushed him. Blood flew from the exit wound in is arm as he tried to block my strike. I pushed the blade deeper into his arm until I had completely run it through. Gannon roared in pain as I drew my sword out of his arm and made a falling chop to his neck. He was ready this time and easily knocked the edge away and rose to his feet. I backpedaled until I was at the edge of the arena. Gannon rushed at me and stopped short and quickly turned and swung his tail, catching me in the side and tossing me to the middle of the platform. I did manage to take a piece of his tail with me however, and he hesitated for an instant. It was time for his loser's gambit. I ran low to the ground and aimed a rising slash for his throat. He rose to block, only to stumble backwards. I slashed and thrust furiously to shove him off the ledge and end this battle. He managed to keep balance until I cut him in the leg, tearing out more flesh. He dropped, and hung on to the ledge. I got onto the ground, looked over the ledge, and being careful not to drop the Master Sword; I cut him across his eyes. And that was all. I had won. Hyrule was safe for now. But Link was gone for good. I sat there and grieved. I returned to the Temple of Time, and put the Master Sword into its pedestal. And I cried. And I hoped. I hoped that Link would change the time. I hoped that he would win in another time stream. It was all I could do.
