Nineteen years

It only took nineteen years for her to stop seeing him.

He knew the day he saw her he would have to ignore her… expect he didn't.

From the first day he couldn't help but make her see him.

He taunted her, he insulted her and yet she still saw him.

Her brown eyes narrowing, her lips pursing and her rage boiling but despite all that he knew she saw him and he wanted more.

He could never have her the way he wanted but that was fine as long as she saw him.

He knew one day it would stop, she would stop seeing him and in the end he knew he would die because of it.

Unlike her he didn't have to tell anyone he was right, he didn't need the world to know he was right because he knew and that was enough.

It took nineteen years after the down fall of Voldermort, years in which he knew he was dying but he carried on.

"Harry who was you nodding at" she had questioned her best friend as the train departed with their children and for a spilt second he waited, knowing his wife had things planned and places to be but he waited because he needed to know if he was finally right.

"Malfoy and his wife" Potter offered and with baited breath waiting on the sideline watching as her brow furrowed only a little before she nodded then beamed at Harry declaring that she had to go to the burrow to tell her mother in law all about letting her baby leave for Hogwarts.

It took nineteen years but she stopped seeing him.

It took nineteen years but he did something no other Malfoy could ever do.

He could walk away from the only thing he ever wanted and be happy enough to know she was more happier not seeing him.

No idea just felt like writing something angsty for Hermione and Draco.
