Adam Crawford was fairly certain as he watched Kurt Hummel walk into the Adam's Apples practice that something seemed different about his friend. He sat down tentatively in the back, pulling out one of his textbooks and starting to read while waiting for others to finish arriving from their classes.

It also didn't help that he was wearing a turtleneck in the middle of April. New York City was already up into the lower 80's and more than a few people were already wearing shorts and tank tops. He himself had already broken out the sandals.

"Hello," he said, sitting down beside Kurt with a wide smile. Kurt returned the gesture, but winced as he turned his head.

"Sorry," he murmured. "Bit of a sore neck."

The head of the glee club was amused. Adam could only thing of one thing that would cause soreness and require the use of turtlenecks shirts and sweaters. He knew Kurt had been seeing someone, but he had been quiet about the whole thing. And Adam hadn't asked. He figured Kurt would tell him in due time. He reached out and playfully pulled at Kurt's brown turtleneck. He whistled. There was a hickey on the lower side of his neck, not that far from the collarbone. It was about the size of a matchbook, and vibrant shade of purple and red.

"Impressive."

Kurt blushed and pulled the folded collar back up.

"Someone didn't know when to stop," he muttered.

A twinkle came in Adam's eye. "Oh I don't know. I'd want to mark and claim you too if I could."

Kurt slunk down lower in the seat.

Adam laughed. "Kurt, why are you embarrassed? It's cute."

But before they could speak, someone else came into the practice area. "Kurt! There you are," said a voice. Adam turned and saw Rachel Berry walking towards them with a large smile and holding a stack of papers.

"You forgot your music for class later."

"Oh thanks," said Kurt, standing to take them from her. She smiled at Adam, looking at him carefully. What she did next surprised everyone who had gathered for practice already. She kissed Kurt right on the mouth. He kissed her back, earning more than a few squeals and exclamations of surprise from his fellow club members. Adam chuckled as she waved at them all and took off out the door.

"Rachel, huh?"

"It's a very long story," sighed Kurt. He smiled as he watched her retreating back.

"Do feel free to enlighten me after practice," said Adam. "I'd love to hear how that came about."

A few days later, Adam Crawford was walking away from his music theory class when he saw Rachel Berry walking towards him with… leg warmers on her arms? He knew theatre students had a weird sense of wardrobe at times, but that one was pretty out there. He happened to ask Kurt about it over coffee later, and he smirked.

"So that's how she covered them up. I hadn't seen her today."

"Covered what up?"

Kurt laughed, a reddish tint going across his cheeks as he took a sip of his mocha.

"Let's just say Rachel has very sensitive wrists."
