Touched By God.
In the temple
I was touched by God
He met me
He gifted me with sanity
He gifted me with selflessness
He gifted me with joy
He met me when the Abbot chanted the Sanskrit
His words were a stranger,
But his solemn and sure voice made it evident
That his words were sacred,
That his words were pure,
And that was when it happened.
Something inside me began to stir, like wind rustling against leaves
The rush unveiled my generosity
It evoked the woman inside of me
It broadened the good in me
It was a gift that could only be given by the Almighty,
It was a feeling a peace I'll forever treasure,
It is the reason
For how I can be sure,
Just how strong is God's Power.
I'M BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chiang Mai was AMAZING, one of the best experiences of my life! I got to white water raft, trek up hills for six hours (yeesh, that hurt), spend two nights in a long house in a village, camp, do river studies, visit the night market and have a khantok dinner!! It was absolutely splendid. I made this poem for one of my classes at Prem Center, the school my class stayed in for a week to do studies on Thailand and its lovely culture. We were asked to write a poem about our visit to the Buddhist temple, and I wanted to share mine with you guys, so PLEASE tell me what you think!!
Love,
Geena.
