lost everyone and everything I had ever loved in a matter of years, and although many people can't wait to go to heaven or hell to see their loved ones again I don't. I can't go there anyway due o something we "Kira's" call a Death Note. Yes I am Kira. You shouldn't fear me though for I will not harm you for any of your crimes. Perhaps after you hear my story you might rethink your thoughts on me.
I was born Yumiko Ryo Takara. but I go by Yumi Tahoro. Many people know me as the wealthy business owner Ray Takara and upcoming actress Ami Sakurto's daughter. I also had a twin brother, Kyo top of his class and the family favorite. Little did we know, and once we found out it was far to late, Kyo was born with a disease that would take his life much to early.
The day I found my death note my brother was put on life support. I began using the local beach as a place to relax. I of course wanted to have an escape from all the stress. As an 18 year old I could do almost anything, go anywhere but the beach was like my second home.
My mind wondered trying to find a way to save Kyo or at least put him to rest forever in peace. I prayed for an answer. My heart told me it was hopeless until a small black object fell out of nowhere. My mind flipped to curiosity and I walked towards it looking back on it I have reason to believe this was my biggest mistake.
I read the cover and sighed, "Death Note well that's twisted. "I opened it and began to read the rules on the first page, two of which caught my attention , "The human who's name is written in this note shall die and if the cause of death is written within 40 seconds of writing the person's name, it will happen. This seems like a load of bull shit to me," I muttered, thanking god no one else was there on that beach. Although I thought it was stupid I took the notebook with me because in my heart I knew that this was what I had been praying for.
That night after my visit with my brother I realized that Kyo was in too much pain to endure life much longer. Although I still had my doubts about the 'Death Note' I figured if it did as it said then Kyo would no longer suffer and be sent to a place with no more pain. So I did it, I wrote my only brothers name in something that would take his soul from this world and into another.
That night my mother received a phone call from Kyo's doctor. Her eye's filled with tears and she dropped the phone back onto the hook. "Yumiko, your brother, he's dead." My eye's widened and my hand flew up to my mouth. 'So it does work' I thought.
