Disclaimer: I don't own em
A/N: The song is mine, but there is an outside chance that some other song leaked into my subconscious...if this one is suspiciously similar to something else, I'm sorry, please don't sue me!
A/N 2: This takes place after Hello Goodbye. Max's thoughts are in (parentheses).

Logan paced back and forth in his penthouse with his finger on the speeddial button of the phone. He pressed it and quickly hung up before it could ring. He bit his lip, closed his eyes, and pressed it again.
Ring...ring...

Ring...ring...
"Ya know that's him, right boo?" Original Cindy asked. Max nodded. (Who else would it be?) "Boo, you even alive? Don't think ya moved since ya broke it off..."
Ring...ring...
"He knows ya here...ya gonna answer it?" Max didn't say anything. "For cryin' out loud boo answer the phone before I answer it and ya boy pours his heart out ta me! That what ya want?"
Max rolled her eyes. "Let the machine get it." The answering machine came on quickly and stated it's position, then said, and I quote, BEEEEEP.
She heard Logan take a deep breath and start to sing. (Oh God he's singing...)
I wish upon a shooting star
I close my eyes, and there you are.
I never thought I'd see the day
When you went away.
And I miss you, baby,
Come back to me now.
'Cause this life ain't worth livin'
For all I been given,
If I don't got you anymore.
Baby, I miss you...
Just wanna kiss you...
Once more.
I wish upon a four-leaf clover
In my dreams, you're comin' over.
I never thought I'd see the time
When you weren't mine.
And I miss you, baby,
Come back to me now.
'Cause this life ain't worth livin'
For all I been given,
If I don't got you anymore.
Baby, I miss you...
Just wanna kiss you...
Once more.
He hung up the phone. Max stared at the machine. A single tear rolled down her face.
"And you say this is for the best," Cindy said. "The two of you both cryin' your eyes out and it's for the best..."
"Two of us? You don't know that Logan is..." Max retorted.
"Yes, I do...trust me, he is." Max sighed.

Logan stared at his computer, trying to bring himself to do some work. It didn't seem to matter anymore. He heard a noise behind him. He assumed it was Asha. He didn't turn around.
"Logan Cale, you are one hell of a singer." He turned around to face Max, eyes wide. "I'm sorry, but I have to..I just don't want you to get hurt!"
"So you figured you'd take away the one thing I love?"
Max stared. She didn't know what to say. He spoke again. "Max, please..."
She changed the subject. "Where'd ya find that song? Never heard it before."
"I wrote it," he said simply.
"Y-you wrote that?" He nodded. "For me?" Another nod. "Crap, Logan, you do have a way with women, ya know that?"
He smiled. "Does this mean...?"
"Yeah...of course. I can't stay away from you."
"Good...'cause I gotta tell you, these last few...however long it's been...have been hell."
"Not any easier for me..."
"I love you, Max...you know that, right?"
She paused, then nodded. "I love you too."
