So, after watching the Season 2 Finale (big cliffhanger!) I decided to write a quick oneshot for Henry and Regina. I just love the family dynamics between Henry and Regina.
I shall never own ABC'S Once Upon a Time.
Henry woke up super early to make his Mother's Day present for his mommy. He yawned as he eyed the clock that read 6:30 am.
He quickly realized that his mom would be awake in half an hour. So Henry quickly gathered his crayons, poster paper and markers from his night table. The young boy carefully sneaked out of his room and peeked into his mom's room.
Henry saw his mother sleeping peacefully on the bed, with closed eyes. He grinned at the thought of surprising her with a very big poster with the words "Best Mommy in the World" all written with his neatest handwriting. Henry shut the door gently, not wanting to wake her up. 'Mommy needs her beauty sleep,' Henry thought as he went back to his room with his colouring supplies.
Henry made his way to the bed and spread out the huge white poster paper. What was his mommy's favourite colour again? Then he remembered it was red because she loves those dark, red apples hanging by her tree.
He squinted in concentration as he drew a red apple in the corner of the page. Henry smiled in satisfactory as he saw his drawing. 'Perfect shape, colour, shading... Mommy would love that for sure,' he thought happily.
Henry eyed the clock. 6:45. She would be up in 15 minutes. He had to do this quickly!
Henry carefully wrote "Best Mommy in the World". When he was done, Henry was pleased by how neat his handwriting was.
'Mommy will be so proud of me when she sees this!' Henry thought excitedly.
He eyed the clock and saw that it was 6:59. Quickly, Henry grabbed his poster and rushed to his mother's room.
He barged in the room, yelling, "Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!" Regina woke up, startled by the noise. However, she did not complain once she saw Henry with his angel face. Henry shoved the poster in front of her face. "Mommy, this is for you!"
Regina read the words: Best Mommy in the World!
Regina's heart lightened as she wrapped her arms around her little boy in a tight hug. "This...is for me?" Regina said softly.
"Well duh, you're my only mom. Who else would I give this to?" Henry replied with a grin. Regina laughed lightly.
"Thank you Henry."
"Love you, mommy..." Henry said happily.
"I love you too, Henry."
