Seto Kaiba had never really thought that Téa Gardner, one of Yugi's cheerleaders, would be the type of girl to become a dancer. Not that he had spent a lot of his time thinking about what she might have wanted to pursue as a goal in her life, and what moves she might dance to, but – it never seemed like something that would be her style.
Téa was supposed to be the epitome of the 'good friend'. She was supposed to be sticking by whoever wanted a shoulder to cry on after losing a duel or to celebrate a petty victory with. She was supposed to be above all the cheap dreams of those who want to stand out, to be above everyone else– if she wasn't, and then the whole illusion (the illusion of them versus the world, of cultural divides within Domino City and of the natural order of their own worlds and their involvements with one another) was shattered.
But she was a great dancer – not what people would consider being upon famous stages; what people thought what made great movement and dancing for competition– and Kaiba couldn't say that he didn't find that fascinating. He had become the CEO of his own corporation through hard work and determination, and it had indeed started out as a dream.
In a weird way, it made Téa familiar, like she was home with Yugi's little fanclub, or at least the people that he knew. She knew that the illusion was only to set them apart for something that no one in what he thought in "the right mind" would pay thousands of dollars for. So Kaiba savored it, even when Téa journeyed on towards her dream that could rightfully be either achieved or easily shattered.
It would inevitable, as they both would soon continue to be someone that they already weren't, they would be so close, and yet they would be too far from the sun.
