Let It Rain
A/N: This one-shot is based on 'Let It Rain' by Daniel Nail. When I first heard it, I thought about Danny and Rachel from Hawaii 5-0. I did not use the entire song but I still think it's purdy good :)
It's hard to find the perfect time,
To say something you know
That's going to change everything…
Daniel 'Danny' Williams sighed and slammed his fist down on the counter. His wife Rachel was in their bedroom. They had gotten in a huge fight and she admitted she was fed up with living month-to-month with his pitiful salary and the pity looks people give her.
Living with the shame,
It ain't nothing like the pain,
That I saw on her face…
"Rachel, we can talk this out!" He yelled from the kitchen. No response. She walked into the living room of their apartment to pick up something. When he saw her face, the only he knew she was feeling was pain.
"I want you out. Now." She spoke coolly and walked into the bathroom.
Now me and my pile of things
That she threw out the window
Drowning next to me
No seven years of good can't hide,
The one night I forget to wear that ring…
Danny was sitting on the curb of the street in the pouring rain as he waited for the last of his stuff. Rachel insisted on bringing it down so he wouldn't be in the apartment for one more second.
"Rachel, I love you and you love me." Danny pleaded with her.
"Stop." She dropped the rest of his stuff. "You may love me but I do NOT love you anymore." She walked back into the apartment complex, leaving him alone in the rain.
As if the weather knew exactly what he was feeling, the rain came down harder. He didn't move though. All he could feel was his heart broken and shattered in many, tiny pieces. He had given her his heart, his life. But she threw it back in his face. The rain didn't bother him, neither did the looks of passing people. All that mattered was that his heart was broken and the woman that did it didn't give a damn about how he felt...
So let it rain! Let it pour!
She don't love me anymore,
Let it come down on me,
Let it come down on me…
Every word, let it hurt!
Even more than I deserve,
Let it come down on me,
Let it come down on me..
Let it rain!
