"There's something you should know Light", Ryuk said. "What's that Ryuk?", I asked. "When you kill someone with the Death Note their spirit remains in purgatory and follows the human who killed them until the shinigami possessing that human kills them and after that human's name is written in the shinigami's Death Note the spirits of the humans that were killed will appear before the dying human with the opportunity to save them. If they do then that human will not be able to be killed with any Death Note and the spirit who saved them, after the human who killed them dies, will remain in purgatory instead of going to Mu.

As I laid on the floor of the yellow box warehouse I pleaded with Ryuk to save me but he kept telling me he couldn't. I turned around scraping my fingers along the hard concrete floor. I looked at the puddle of blood and I felt defeated. I looked up expecting to see the faces of the task force and the spk. But instead I saw the faces of countless criminals. But the faces that stood out were not criminals but those I killed that weren't criminals.

Then I heard a familiar voice say "It's to bad we could have been…friends." I looked up and saw bare feet, baggy jeans, and a plain white t-shirt last I saw his face, the bags under his eyes and the raven like hair, god how I hated him and now he was here to see my final humiliation. Then an idea came into my head I looked up and said "L you can save me, you're my friend." I got up and the concrete cut my hands and the blood from the gunshot wounds poured onto the floor. "Save me!" He just stood there, an expressionless statue. "Save me" He replied "No." One simple word and I was doomed. Then I screamed "I DON'T WANT TO DIE! I DON'T WANT GO!" As I said that L actually smiled. Then I could feel my heart stop and my body drop to the floor. Then L said, "Light Yagami, you lose."
