Don't own Monk.

Max and Jarred turned off the video they made about Jennifer. In the end Max said to 'whoever' took her to please return her and nobody would 'bother them'. They just wanted Jennifer back. Leland and Karen both loved the movie but Leland was trying to explain to the boys that they couldn't promise the guy who took her wouldn't be prosecuted because that was up to the police department. After the boys left, happily, Karen looked at Leland

"You know honey," she said, "believe me I understand how you feel… I really do. You still catch more flies with honey then with vinegar"

"Well that may be so," Leland said, "but all flies would do whatever they wanted to do if they knew they would only find honey"

"That may be so," Karen said, "but many a times the means justifies the end and honestly I would rather get Jennifer back then get the bastard that took her."

Leland had to agree his wife had a point.

"Frankly," he said, "I'd prefer to do both"

"Well thank you captain duh," she laughed, "so would I but if it comes down to one or the other I would rather get Jennifer back any day then get the bastard that took her"

"Me too," Leland confirmed, "but then other criminals would think they could get away with anything"

"LELAND! I AM NOT LOGICAL WHEN IT COMES TO MY DAUGHTER"

Leland laughed.

"So I noticed," he teased.

She looked at him.

"I'm not about to risk Jennifer's well being-"

"Karen," Leland said, "Honey you do realize this is a 'what if' situation."

"No it's not," Karen argued, "if the person who took her thinks he's safe it's more likely then not that he'll return her. Besides some people have issues"

"Only some people," he teased with a smile.

"Its basic psychology," Karen pointed out.

Karen had a way of looking at things that only Karen could understand.

Leland had to admit one thing however. No matter what it was, Karen was always right. It was uncanny how many times Karen was right. Leland had learned over the years not to argue with her. How could he argue with someone who is always right?

Leland used to tease Karen by saying, "I knew I married Ms. Right. She used to laugh and throw a pillow at him. It was all in fun. Now there was nothing fun about it. Karen wanted her daughter back and he had to agree there.

How could he compromise his morals though? On the other hand, how could he not. Jennifer was more important then anything else. They had to put her first.

"You're right," he sighed.
