Hope

Coldness, darkness, and despair. That's all there is in this dreary world. The name's Tsukiyomi Ikuto. Not that you'd care much about my me anyways. I live in a world of darkness. No matter how far I run, how far I go, there's no way out. I'm trapped alone in this stupid world. It's creepy at first, but you get used to it after awhile.

This world is engulfed in deep darkness that extends forever, with no light to guide the way. I'm isolated from the outside world, destined to live in this world for life. I can't see or feel anything here, but occasionally the echoes of voices are the only things that really keep me company.

Stupid black cat of misfortune! Stay away from us!

My own stupid stepson can't even do the job properly!

Thief!

I hate you Tsukiyomi Ikuto!

Hope? Haha, there's no such thing as "hope" here. I've tried that already and look where I am, still stuck in hell. I'm destined to live in this place forever with no friends, family, or "hope." Just me and the darkness. Great life isn't it?

Will I ever see the light? Or am I just going to live the rest of my life in darkness till death comes for me?

One day, I've had enough and just broke. Like I just broke into a million pieces and a ten of those pieces went missing. Without them, I will never be complete. I've already lost hope, so I'm ready to just give up on everything else. Feeling, breathing... life. Man, I've never even had a girlfriend yet.I just want to be put out of this pain and loneliness; however, I see something in the distance that I've never seen before.

Light.

As I move closer I see something else. A girl within that light. Her pink hair softly cascades a little over her shoulders. Her soft pink lips are slightly parted. Her eyes are a deep honey colored that seems to put me in a trance. I can't stop staring at her beauty. She must be an angel because her smile is breathtaking.

She slowly raises her hand and signals me to come forward. I begin to walk forward but she slowly begins to fade away. She starts talking but I can't seem to hear her. I read her lips and can make out one word though.

Ikuto.

I start running.

"Wait!" I shouted. "Don't leave!"

She begins to fade even more with every step I take. I see her smile and I even hear a small giggle as I get closer. By the time I reach her though, she's gone.

"Dammit!" I said.

Before I walk away I look up, and I see a small orb of light in front of me. It doesn't disappear, it just remains there. I know now that I must remain here just a little longer; however, she gave me one thing I haven't felt in a long time. Hope. I know that as long as that light is shining, I will never lose hope. This isn't the last time I'll see her. I'll become free of this world by myself, but she will guide me through the process.

She is the girl that gave me hope again. The girl who pulled me out of the darkness. The girl who saved my life.

Hinamori Amu, you are my light.
