Written for Faberry Week! I had to write something for it, okay? This is one of my longest yet. (not really, but I just think it is..) originally posted on Tumblr, yay. And yes, this is late. but, enjoy! :)
It was a very busy day. Rehearsals had to be done again and again because of her co-star, she had to record some songs in the studio, she had to meet with someone 'important' because of her manager, and on top of that she wasn't there to take care of her sick wife. Add the traffic, too, but hey, it's New York, so it wasn't unusual.
She insisted on staying home and taking care of her, but no matter how hard Rachel tried, Quinn somehow convinced Rachel not to bother… with one fourth of blackmail, of course.
All she wanted to do was go home and snuggle with Quinn.
She arrived late, and she knows Quinn would be a little mad at her for this, but she knows she'll understand. It's unspoken.
She almost ran to their room only to find Quinn (half) asleep, with the lights off.
"Hi," Quinn quietly greets.
"Hi," Rachel smiles through the dark. She suddenly remembers when they were still in their teens and often had sleepovers and wake up often with their faces close to one another, making each other the first thing they see in the morning. And now, Quinn's beautiful, angelic face is now what she still sees first thing in the morning, and they don't have sleepovers anymore, but they sleep together… always. She'll never grow tired of it, never, and doesn't regret one thing. She's proud, and happy in Quinn's arms, she'll marry Quinn a thousand times to prove just that.
"I missed you. How was work?" Quinn tiredly asks, without moving at her place in the dark. Rachel just collapses onto the bed, not caring if she's still in her work clothes.
"Oh, honey, I know you really don't care. Just cuddle with me." she presses a kiss against Quinn's lips.
They stay like that for a moment, Rachel's left arm draped over Quinn's chest, her face buried in Quinn's soft, blonde hair. She smells like strawberry, she decides.
"Momma, Mommy?" A soft, innocent, child-like voice booms over the silence.
"Yes, sweetie?"
"Ca-can I-I sleep in he-here?" their 4-year-old nervously asks. She had completely forgotten about her daughter in the other room…
"Of course, Harm. have you had nightmares again?" Little Harmony climbs to the bed, before muttering a barely audible "yes".
"I'm so sorry, hon. Sleep tight and Mommy and I will protect you from nightmares, okay?" Rachel reassures, and she presses a light kiss against Harmony's forehead. Harmony just nods.
Their eyes flutter closed, and they fall into a peaceful slumber.
Harmony is tucked between them, and they cuddle and all.
With content smiles on their faces.
Just so you know, I suck at fluffy and humor fics. If you see me (or read me?) not mentioning the word 'fluffy' in a funny/fluffy fic, it just came out without me not even noticing that it's cute. Er, whatever you call it. I just don't want to say the same thing 4 times in a row. It kind of annoys me.
Also, my mother almost caught me scrolling through some porn on my dash... I know she'll be scarred for life. and pretty much not talk to me forever. then I'll be shipped into my grandparents' house or either my Dad's condo, which is very creepy to live in...
whatever. Merry Christmas to all! :)
Review! :D
