Spanish Ed

Ed waited till the house was all his own, with Roy out on assignment. Confident he was by himself, he put the Bye Bye Birdie CD into his player, set it to track 11 and pressed "Play".

"I'm just a Spanish Tamale, according to Mae, straight off the boat from the tropics far, far away…"

Ed's favorite song in the entire show! He sang along with the lyrics, "You want Spanish? Alright, Mae, I'll give you Spanish, right after I marry Alberto!" He shook his hips, he pantomimed, and he sang his heart out.

"I'll be the toast of Chichi Castanango, all night long my castanets will click! I'll hide behind my fan and do the tango; I'll be so Spanish it will make you sick! I'll eat the taco and the enchilada; drink Tequila till I feel NO PAIN! Ah! The only song I'll sing will be Granada, I'll be more espanol than Abbe Lane!"

"Ca-ca-ca! La Cuca! Rrrrrrrrrracha!" Sang Ed, as he wiggled his hips and bobbed his head and rolled his R's, imagining he was the sexually liberated Spanish beauty referring to herself in the third person as "Spanish Rose".

"…. I'll kick up my heels and see how it feels to be sultry Spanish Rose! Ole!" Just at this moment, he looked up to see his older companion watching him with an enormous grin of amusement plastered on his face.

"How long have you been standing there?" said Ed, completely red in the face.

"Long enough to see how crappy you dance with no one to lead you. May I?"

"Of course! But I still get to be Spanish Rose, okay?" Ed said.

"That's fine." Roy replied.

"With Albert I will dance to the bolero!" Rosie exclaimed.

And Albert and Rosie tangoed the whole night away.
