Harry sat next to Ginny, unsure of what to say to her as she spoke. So he fidgeted absentmindedly. He was extremely afraid she would start screaming at him, yet he didn't think he had enough energy or willpower to scream back. All he could do was look awkward and feel awkward while she talked.
"Harry, I think the problem was Voldemort. He put too much pressure on us to do the things we did."
Harry fidgeted some more, suddenly becoming immensely interested in a small hole in the bedspread.
"Harry, look at me."
He forced himself to meet her eyes and brought his hands to rest awkwardly on his legs. He was unsure of what to do or say, but he sincerely didn't want to ruin things any more.
"Don't you want to say anything?"
"Err, I suppose you're right about Voldemort... and stuff." He lowered his gaze once more and began his fidgeting anew, now inspecting his wand and wiping it off with his robes.
She sighed and grabbed his chin, forcing him to look at her. He seemed quite surprised that his comment hadn't sent her into another one of her yelling tangents. He searched her eyes, futilely trying to find a trace of the tender passion that had once radiated from those soft, brown eyes.
"Go find someone who deserves you, Harry."
He got up and lightly kissed her forehead, becoming increasingly awkward with each second. Once he had left the room, Ginny's smile completely disappeared. She spat bitterly on the ground and got up. She knocked a couple things off the small end table and kicked the wall. Walking over to the window, she watched the dark form that had been her true love "'til the end" reach the corner and Disapparated without so much as a glance back. She spat again.
"Fuck."
