Mello sucked air in between his teeth. "Holy shit, B!" B smiled. The rabbit dangled listlessly between the two boys, a current of dried blood matting its ear down. B rocked back and forth on the balls of his bare feet, humming something. His smile was like the kind of smile a kid has on their birthday. "Pretty little rabbitty, little march hare...too crazy for the other little rabbitties..." B reached out his index finger and stroked the rabbit's nose. The humming continued. Mello felt a sense of genuine fear bubble up at the back of his throat. The way B caressed the dead rabbit sent goosebumps skipping down Mello's arm. All he could say was: "Why-?" before B turned to him, really turned all the way around and shouted "TOO CRAZY FOR THE OTHER RABBITIES! NO ROOM! NO ROOM!"Mello could only stare, his heart thudding like a trapped- well, like a trapped rabbit. B rose his hand and made as if to wipe something off of Mello's face, then, suddenly he swung his hand back, hitting the pitiful creature behind them. It spun, quickly at first, like windchimes, then slowed to an eerie turning, its black eyes catching Mello's as it revolved. B smiled again, this time almost ruefully, and leaned in to whisper in Mello's right ear: "I put it out of its madness."
