Note: my characters are based off the movie (the 2004 one with Gerard Butler as phantom)

He stares at the ring glinting on her finger. "Why is she wearing that infuriating little band when she knows the weak Viscount will never have her. she is mine! She will regret trying to walk in the sunshine as her soul is bound to the night." Erik thought. It had been scant a year from when the Opera Populaire had met a fiery end. All who escaped thought them dead. The story told was that after Erik kidnapped Christine ,he took her to his lair and murdered her. Then while trying to escape he was caught in the inferno.
Yet the true story was even more shocking. Erik Desmarsi , "The Phantom", could well be a phantom if a phantom was defined as a disfigured man to whom blood wasn't just a fascination, it was a need. Erik was a Catri , a vampire born human but turned by the darkness in his soul. When he spirited Christine away that night contrary to popular belief he did not kill her. No, it was a revenge far more sweet. Erik damned Christine to be his eternal companion in hell. He changed her into a Catri and took a dark satisfaction in her pained screams for death during the transformation. Her little Viscount won't want her now stained by the Devil and cursed to live a millennia.
